Trial of Chaos - cannot complete, character stuck in second room until reset

Twice now I have attempted level 38 Trial of Chaos for my second ascendency. Both times, when I enter the second challenge area which is a corruption trial, I get stuck in the room with no way to start the event. The quest bar reads "Enter the challenge area", but I am already in the challenge area and the pillar is not clickable.

My portal is inactive and I cannot return up the elevator, so my character becomes trapped here. I had to leave the game and wait until the instance timed out before I could log back in.

Edit to add: the NPC does not spawn at the entrance to the room, which is what should transition the quest state. I walk all around but it does not spawn. The elevator is lit. This has occurred 3 times in a row now.

Hello there ! Currently stuck in Trial of Chaos in my FIRST ASCENDENCY. Same exact issue. Im stuck below with an inactive Corruption Dais that wont allow me clock it. Elevator wont allow me to go back up. Im stuck and not sure what to do.

I've been having the same issue, does anyone know if this is more well known or some weird niche problem?

Cant activate the Corruption Dais to begin the corruption trial in the trials of Chaos...
I've waited few hours to reset because we cant teleport out or reset at last checkpoint.
This morning, second try, same result.. still cant activate that corruption Dais and cant tp out, so I'm gonna wait again few hours to reset that instance to be able to play my Lich.

Kinda annoying to be honest, it's my only character and I dont want to play another character for the moment.

Same here, doing Chaos trial for first time, second room does not activate so I'm stuck ....

I think I've found what happens, You need to click on the edge of the scare and not the pylon itself, the scare will highlight and click that.
I did that yesterday night and was able to start the event.

Thanks for that Garchoo, can confirm, if you click the edge of the square, rather than the pylon, it will start.
