If your not meta, expect to die every other map (15+)

After playing 4 different classes and 5 different builds, I realize that the game mechanics are so punishing that it demoralizes and shuts down any player that isn't insanely defensive as a baseline worked into their Ascendancies.

Are the 4 Ascendancies I played, with my main starter being the Titan. I am now a level 94 (titan) with about 35 div worth of gear and can still die very easily on 15 maps with map modifiers that aren't that dangerous. A simple 34% additional dmg as lightning being the ONLY suffix, is enough for me to be globaled by 2 white mob stomping as I stampede into it.
Take into account I have 72% block, 23k armour, and max resist (75%).

Its one of those times you just stare at the screen thinking, "Did I do something wrong?" "What was I suppose to do differently and how was I suppose to think that possible?"

I feel like all the time spent on this character was completely wasted compared to the Amazon I now have at level 85 blowing up the screen from range. I'm sure I can run into problems with it, but it seems the best way to survive is simply don't be in the enemies face...
