Whirling Slash = Strike
Tempest Bell - Build Combo by successfully Striking Enemies with other skills.

Whirling Slash does not build combo. Regardless if it's the active weapon or not it should still build imo.

For the exiles, please share some more examples of skill combinations you'd like to try but simply cannot due to similar limitations. I'm curious

Daunting support (must stand in place for 2.5 seconds (I think) to be able to use the skill in exchange for some "more" damage multiplier) does not work with combo finisher support (can only use the skill after building up 5 combo stack in exchange for some more multiplier)
I don't know if it's the combo part that is blocking Dauntless but even though those two seem like they would be a great match for each other they simply can't go together on the same skill, as far I can tell (tried it on Bloodhunt)
And there's no indication about it, you just have to try it and fail it to see it.

Pretty annoying during the campain when support gems are very limited and you accomplished a solid self-own for trying it.
