I don`t understand WHY ARE PEOPLE COMPLAINING about difficulty so much...

The game isn't difficult, it's just unpleasant. It's like playing tennis with stones in your shoes and when you add the mechanics of gambling, you have a mix that just doesn't make you want to play. But it's not difficult in itself. When I play I really feel like I'm being taken for an idiot. The unpleasant stacking of mechanics gives unpleasant gameplay. Who likes to take microstuns ? who likes super aggressive and ultra fast mobs with perfect aim ?.
The permanent attack/movement mechanic with the character slowing down is the nail in the coffin and as it's not enough we have a gambling mechanic present throughout the game.
It's not a problem of difficulty, it's a problem of respect for the players.


Tennis with stones in shoes + sometime the ball that the enemy serves is also a rock.
Too many WTF moments and no combat log to see wth happened to you. It's not always clear which of the 50 things on the screen really did kill you.
I dont mind difficulty, but difficulty without reward is just tedium which is where this patch stands now.
Just whinging a bit. Tried a unique map. It was the one with essence prisoned boss.

Seems I got Zicoatl, Warden of the Core
So his usual mechanics of electric fence, laz0rshow, and what I call the triangle nuke where I have to go to the points.

Now add volatile plant
Bone prison circle
hammer of god
and electric donut (you need to be either far away, or in the middle to avoid damage)

The whole arena just turned into a giant deathtrap everywhere. As soon as I found a safe spot, instantly got covered by another.

Got the middle of the donut? Hog for you.
Want to jump or shield charge away? Bone prison

When managed to get a breeze of moment to hit the boss (I'm a melee warrior btw) another nuke carpet bomb just to see the boss shield regenerated.


Whoever designed that fight I hope get punished by allowing to eat once he levels a character up on that map...
60% xp loss and a map to the bin...

Next time just put a sign out, that bring your ranged warrior build.

The homing mob abilities need to go!!! Purple plants, Volatile Crags and the Red Blood balls have no place in this iteration of the game. We need PoE1 move skills to deal with them!

I really don't give a cent about "difficult" or "challenge"... but, the RNG and lack of gear progression/crafting is such a bummer.

Tried to give this 0.2.0g a chance, but still unsatisfactory. The rare drops for sure raised, nonethless the quality of affix/suffix rolls still sh.t.ty.
The issue is that the game isn't hard by any actual skill based metrics when you get to end game. It's all false difficulty introduced by the rarity of good items making you too weak to progress because you hit a dps wall and a bunch of non skill based mechanics monsters have.

Where is the skill in ritual spawning 80 monsters right underneath you? There isn't any just kill them fast

Where is the skill in 20000 particle effects blocking visibility? There isn't any just kill them fast.

Where is the skill in the wisp taking you through 10000 enemies? There isn't any just kill them fast.

Where is the skill in getting through a breach full of 10000 enemies? There isn't any just kill them fast

Etc.

The "difficulty" people are complaining about isn't the difficulty of the game its the unbalanced and mostly unfair systems that we don't have any way to combat other than "kill them before they can do anything"

I don't die to difficult fights (because there arent any skill based fights in this game). I die to stuff I didn't even see or have time to do anything about.


TLDR: Game is spammy not difficult. Difficult games have DPS windows you need to learn and take advantage of. This game is just a DPS check.

...because most player are normal? They want enjoy not frustrate?
For me the only difficult part in this game was to understand how the product is build. They just didnt expect that much top player who would even bother.
They thought they would get away with the campaign as is.
Now we have that mess of a endgame.
If you can get to T15 maps and do pinnacle content once, congratulations, you beat the game.
The rest is just a test ground for degeneracy. Not a game anymore.
games pretty tough when you cant get gear upgrades for 35-40 levels
