XP loss is not the problem, lack of gear progression is at endgame
I definitely enjoyed the experience, I played a bit over a month in ssf with my lvl 94 ritualist fire mage.
By that point I had most gear with at least 2-3 useful decent tier traits, meaning now anything that drops needs to be 3-4+ high tier traits to be an upgrade. As there's no meaningful crafting in this game There's still a ton of content I didnt do Never did Arbiter because I was at +3 difficulty bosses but citadel bosses were way harder due to that so I kept leaving them for when i get better gear. I only ever maxed out expedition atlas tree because it was the only one with the frequent chance to find I only ever did the breach final encounter once but was not able to reach the boss in time before it closed and that was my first time in the encounter, very disappointing. I only ever did the ritual boss once because invites are incredibly rare and the other 1-2 times they appeared and were deferred costed like 4k which is a score i only ever get in a few maps I never did the delirium boss because by the time I managed to get all splinters (through mirrors, i dont annoint waystone, its annoying plus I keep forgetting) i kinda stopped playing This is a definite improvement over 0.1 where I pretty much show non of these bosses and only reached lvl 91 but the gear progression just starts to pause after a level cuz the chance of getting good gear is ridiculously RNG Items that are high tier did drop more often but again, getting them to have at least 4 good affixes is ridiculously rare. Endgame needs to start giving us more ways to craft good items. (And no, i wont playing trade league because its meaningless since at that point you might as well buy the most broken gear with rmt and delete everything without any challenge because of it) What makes poe2 great is the experience and power progression, the issue is that power progression gets stonewalled after some point because the % to get good gear is incredibly low. You can spec out out boss atlas points if +3 is too difficult. Also you can run the citadel maps with a white map for max respawns with bosses (obviously doesn't help with loot overall but better than failing the map).
For ritual you can deffer expensive items again and again. For each round they become cheaper until you can eventually afford them. |
