What do you think? GGG happy whit that statistic?

If you look at this statistics:
https://steamdb.info/app/2694490/charts/

5 months ago there were 578,569 players (That was the top). Now around 45k.
The game loose 92% of total players.

The forum is active and giving constant feedback to GGG.
But they got sticked a concept what is not working. The fun part is gone.
Visible in the numbers.
It means less purchase, less profit and the whole project is in danger.

It can be a good game, but GGG must change and listen.

what is your thoughts?

I think they expect a drop off when they have produced no new actual content since the release. Players will come back when theres more end game, weapons, classes, crafting to do and not the same thing that was done 6 months ago

Sorry, I'm not here to feed the trolls.

That's okay man. I'm not trolling and I ate already. I know you're hearing what I'm saying and I think you probably understand. I appreciate that labeling me a troll is an easy out that lets you maintain continuity of this narrative, but I do genuinely hope you find a way to come to terms with the reality of what's going on because you seem really passionate about this game and I think you could probably provide some actual feedback that would make the final product a better experience.

The current player numbers are probably what GGG expected for EA in the first place. All of the people who tried the EA at launch and aren't playing right now are just potential future customers at 1.0. In truth, GGG probably prefers that they're not playing at the moment because they don't want the general public to see the game in its current state. The people they need right now are the ones who are comfortable playing an unfinished, unpolished, imbalanced, messy game -- they need QA. And yes, that's another way of saying they're asking us for free labor but it's voluntary so at any time you can join all those other people who quit playing for now and come back (if you want) at 1.0 to see what became of the game.

The thing I really hope you don't do is keeping putting your eggs in this fantasy basket you guys have woven where the current player numbers lead to some kind of upheaval at GGG where Jonathan gets ousted and maybe they hire Ziz as their new game director so he can come in and make the game you guys are all collectively dreaming about -- it's just not going to happen and the more time you spend pretending the less time you're spending actively contributing to making the game better.

Like guy just look at the patch notes -- GGG is listening to constructive, positive feedback and they're acting upon it. If you guys would let go of this absurd "lol the vision amirite" vendetta and start contributing rational, actionable feedback you could legitimately influence the shape of the final game. I know you're all angry and disaffected because you feel like GGG has abandoned you and gone back on their word (which in some regards is true no doubt), but it is what it is - you can adapt and adjust and come along for the journey or you can give up and go find another game to play.

A - While all of this is true, they are somewhat weirdly selective in their choice of exactly which feedback to act upon. Some incredibly demanded features or changes seem to be getting consistently ignored and seeing them post in the style of 'some of the most requested features we saw was ...' as a justification for some minor change does feel jading when others were clearly requested a lot more

B - A lot of the changes implemented because of player feedback left us, so far, with worse solutions than the initial problem. All of those have since been reported many times over though, so let's hope they do something about it again, but i'm not convinced

All games loses 90 % of their player base within a month.
Disregarding the amount of active players. The amount of changes and experimentation is laughable for a beta.
Imo I don't care about the economy as much as I care about being able to test stuff more easily.

The forum is definitely active, but the feedback has been a little less than constant because a lot of the threads are coming from people who seem to think GGG needs their help with data analysis or financial planning instead of just providing clear, constructive feedback about specific game mechanics.

GGG is clearly listening and responding to feedback. There's a long list of changes in every patch that are based directly on feedback they have received here and elsewhere on social media. Just because they're not listening to you doesn't mean they're not listening.

The project is not in trouble. They made an absolutely massive pile of cash with the initial launch - more than enough to fund the remainder of development and the marketing campaign they will use to bring people back for 1.0.

Genuinely guy - just play the game and post feedback about the mechanics; this "but the numbahs" narrative is gettin' real stale.

Just curious, do you have any statistics to back these claims? How much is enough? And how much would they need for marketing campaign?

I see a lot of statements such as "we are the majority, you're in minority" without providing any proofs.

Sometimes I feel sad remembering the time when GGG advertise their dodge skill by memeing on D4 dodge skill.

42.000 is still better then 21.000 at the end of 0.1 patch,
so....

Also think when 0.3 hit, 250.000 will be back to check the game progress.
And I rly pray, it will be AT LEAST new class.

That's a ridiculous and bad faith comparison, 0.1 was out for roughly 4 months, was praised highly, was reviewed positively by players and only started losing players after they ran out of content to do.

0.2 has been out for less than half the time (a month and a half), faced a lot of criticism, got review bombed and lost a majority of players during the first three weeks, many of them during the campaign! We went from 262k on the 4th of April to a high of 82k by the 28th of April, in May it's been stuck between just over 60k and 40k.

Don't make excuses for this disastrous patch, GGG NEEDS to understand how much good will they burned with this league and proved their "vision" isn't what a majority of their players want!

so funny when ppl pretend at least 10k of those arent bots/rmt...
D4 has over 1 million players most it player base uses battle net client not the steam version. Seriously if you think the D4 steam numbers are true numbers and GGG has more players then d4 you are just completely insane. 90% of it's player base bought the game on battle net long before it came to steam. true number for d4 season start and first few weeks 3,320,178 right now has over 800k still playing it. GGG has what 41k.
^ You need to buy base game + xpak(s)

Also the irony of showing D4 on Steamchart is the same for PoE1 and 2, most loyal players use the GGG client and not Steam while tourists uses Steam.

LE however.......
Tech guy
Yes.

All MMO's have what is called a spike period, where people come in to check out what is now.

If the number of players remaining after the spike period is greater than the number they had before the spike period then that is a win.

For example, pre 0.2 spike period there was something like 12k players. Post spike, they were left with 21K out of 425K. That is a win because you are left with 9k players more.

Furthermore, you had 425K people make a single purchase, which is more than enough to support this game after around 400K left unsatisfied.

The only instance where this isn't true is if at least 250K players chose to refund the game and got their money back.
