The Recombinator is an unfunny joke.

It's encouraging players to slow down, pick up loot and keep it if it has one good modifier that you'd like to try to combine. It also encourages you to do expeditions. Even if you only select one modifier from each item, the success rate goes down depending on the tier and rarity and the modifier. It's highly unlikely that someone is going to recombine "+6 to skills" and "+100% increased damage" on the first try. But if you pick up the scrap gear and gather the artifacts to do it, maybe 10 times, you've got a pretty good shot at crafting yourself a useable weapon.

For me, it's been a game changer. But I also don't speed through maps, I pick up everything. For players who zoom through maps, I can see it being more on the useless side.


The issue is there is just way to muc loot to do this effectively. If you pick up a lot of stuff then you teleport constantly. You pick up a lot of stuff identify a lot. Its just really annoying to do.
So most people dont do that. Its mostly more effective to do maps fast and pinnacles etc.

If Items would be already identified then it would be a great addition to the game, but if you have to identify its bad. Its not worth the time.

I'm not against the idea of a gamble, This whole game is basically a slot machine but man the recombinator has to be the biggest steaming pile I've tried to interact with. Incredibly low rates of success & destroys the item upon an already low success rate. It just feels like someones idea of a morbid joke. For example, I would say I'm at endgame so most mods on my gear I need to have a high tier otherwise they're useless. I have learned that at my level to try to recombine anything more than 2 mods is basically admitting I want my gear to get destroyed. So I usually only recom 2 mods. It's usually at a success rate of 20%. I've done this with countless pieces of gear & not a single one was successful. It just really begs what's the point of this thing? I can't even influence the rate of success with other materials. It's just slam & pray, as usual. I don't know if anyone has had better success than me with this system but man from my impressions the best thing I can say about the recombinator is that it's Ass.



Take this with a grain of salt I guess since it's only meant to be a minor system but man, what a major letdown for something so minor{ironic}.

to be honest i don't get it, whats happening in creators mind
that anyone could believe just 1 second this could be a usefull mechanic ?

Again i tried: 121 cominations with around 5 % (!!!!! WTF is 5 %)
and i got

.... Nothing !

and i farmed 5 days for it

The whole prays are towards asian market. If asians also drop this game then big changes occure (that's seems very likely). Otherwise that's not our game at all.
+1. items should not be destroyed. ALSO why not recompine corrupted items???
The only use scenario right now for this crafting 'mechanic' is clearing either 2 suffixes or prefixes. eg you have 3 good sufixes and don't care about prefixes, you combine them with low tier mana/whatever for a 50/50 chance to get 2 more exalt slams.

Everything else is broken and can only be crafted by using 10s of omens that still do not exist in SSF.

Another problem are affix weights. Why do mana/life leech/reduced attribute mods on weapons have 5 tiers? Weights are diluted x2 compared to poe1 whilst having a tiny fraction of its crafting systems - make it make sense.

+1. I don't see a reason to destroy the items or at least there should be a percentage of destroying one or both of them.
agreed it's quite cynical. Why destroy the items?

If it fails, why can't we just pick up our 2 items? Then there could be a mention that these won't be able to be recombined, or something along those lines.
