FPS Drop in game.

I though it was my network which causes the lag. But then I tried to connect to a cafe wifi but still the same. The first few seconds in the video which was black was the fps drop part. It starts out smooth like 100+ fps, then a few seconds later, my fps drops to 3 to 4 fps, GPU is at 99 percent, then goes out smooth again, and then repeat. My laptop is an i5-13th gen, RTX 4050. Is there any way to fix this?

The fps drops have been soon bad out of the blue lately I don't even know what's going on.
Even doing a breach just has the cpu and GPU usage spiking harder than ever before.

It's unplayable, you throw an ability and it comes out 2 seconds later completely missing the mobs.

Feel like I'm playing some kind of drunk simulator

I can't even understand how a game that looks like this in 2025 even runs this bad.
There are literally no graphics options to turn off to improve anything and I mean, look at the game.
How am I running a game like Cyberpunk or Elden Ring with raytracing and getting better fps than this 2.5d game.
If it's some "fancy" graphics they have, just turn them off, nobody cares.
Playability over looks any day.

When I tweaked the graphics, I thought I already solved the problem. It ran smooth for one gaming session. The next day, the problem showed up again, starting at smooth, then the game turns unplayable at 3 fps. I tried everything. Hell, I even bought a prepaid wifi because I thought it was my internet connection (I used mobile previously). Turns out the problem is in the game itself. I can't even imagine how this game runs so bad when it meets all the minimum and recommended requirements of my laptop.

Just now, I wanted to play. But I could not because of this problem. Hope they optimize this game soon.

I have a 12600k 9070 XT 32gb RAM and game installed to SSD (not NVME cuz I don't think it takes advantage of it). I get fps drops when there are a lot of monsters + effects going off, and also when on the caravan in Act 2 (for some reason it's always 45 - 55 fps even though it doesn't look like it should be demanding).

You can't just "turn off graphics", you have to code everything. And what's going on is probably an optimization issue - even if I put all low settings, I get the drops. I do agree the game right now is more demanding than it looks, even when I don't have fps drops, max settings 60fps cap 1440p with Xess on balanced I can hit 85% GPU usage which is around what I get from Cyberpunk 2077 max settings 1440p FSR4 on balanced regular raytracing (not pathtracing) settings maxed out. Super early early access still imo, so I think this will get ironed out over time. They have a lot of ground to cover so it might take a while.

You guys are even lucky to play the game with a decent fps. I can't even go past through the title screen or the character selection. It is already lagging and I am already have a 200ms GPU spike.

And yes, I have already tried changing the global and trade chat server and did little to nothing. Also tried deleting the shader cache and nothing happens.

And yesterday was the second time playing the game smoothly on my laptop. I don't know what I did and how I did it. I wanted to play today but the problem came back.

Haven't found a thread in the forum that helped fixed my issue. Tried emailing to GGG Support today and told me they couldn't provide email support due to limited staff.
