Stun Threshold is based off Max HP, not Armour. Also it's called a Stone Charm, throw it on your belt and forget about it. You will get stunned for a split second and then be in control and fully immune for 3+ seconds.
Eh. Im basically invincible with max res (including chaos, very important) and decent armour. On less than 2k life lul. Feels similar to poe1 to me. Even easier actually to work with defences because there is so much less meaningless clutter stats. Just learn the damage types, enemy attacks and how to mitigate them. Best def is avoiding incoming damage, next best is max res and stacking armour. There really isnt much to it. I find damage to be more difficult to get going. Getting stats, res and added damage on things like rings isnt as easy as getting a 2k+ armour body armour.

Good point. Why doesn't stun threshold increase based off armour as well? Might make armour more useful.
Suatain is also important obviously. Leech is really strong on a life build. 9% on a weapon, some on gloves and maybe ring and its kinda stupid how only literal one shots will get you.
They've been designing defenses to fail for a long time now.

I recall everyone complaining about damage loss on Ascendancy reworks but I personally noticed the removal of all flat DR from them. Slayer being the only survivor.

Later they reworked Armor/Evasion. Everyone praised it and again I noticed the removal of more Flat DR and Conversion options. Dodge and other more reliable methods.

They mostly just took the same thing they've been doing and applied it to PoE2. The main difference is you can't get nearly the armor values and some hits you just can't evade.

I do enjoy the videos of dual and Tri recoup AFK though. Shows how misplaced their concepts are. Recovery was one of the first things to get out of control in PoE1 which made enemies have to kill players within 2s or they don't die. You'd think they'd have learned after reworking Leech 3 times.

Armour and Evasion need to a big buff to reach level of ES. This is clearly a defence balance issue and should be fixed in patch 0.3.0. This situation about bad defences is shown in statistics clearly by people who choose in majority classes that have passives near ES category.

I don't understand why Devs don't see it, it's in front of their eyes but nothing have done yet and people express all the time dissapointment and frustration.

I thought so but it doesn't work with so simple rules. But what you expected to mitigated from 51% should be the correct rule. If i see 86% armour i will expect 86% mitigation to physical damage taken.


Poe2: The game that doesn't follow any RPG rule.

Even with this rule of mitigation, Armour doesn't protect you from elemental and chaos damage. So actually you invest to 1/3 of defences. Es has simpler rules and do the job fine as long as you have over 8k Shield. Evasion from the other hand has the rule of 50/50. If you fail to evade say goodbye to rogue exiles.

In conclusion only combination with them could have satisfactorily good results.

But yes ES can stand alone as defence well. And it's the winner 🏆.

Exactly, ES don't have this type of bullshit like armour and evasion does
We expecting some buffs in Armour and Evasion in next big patch. The problem lies to exclusive modifiers in passives and not combined that will boost significant the weak defenses. Also ES should be nerfed.

8k and over ES is insane amount especially when life is between 1,5-3k.
Also there should be some notable passive that will give extra life points with current modifiers
For example 15% increased damage + 200 Life.
That will solve the unfair balance between defences.
