Ascending mechanics

I have played POE 2 over 1000 hours by now. I mainly play SSF and have leveled over 20 characters to the endgame. The game is progressing good and I'm confident the game will be a very good game in 1.0. There is only one thing that worries me, mechanics for achending.

- For evey character I play I dredd ascending the 3rd and 4th time.
- I play for having fun in the game but Sanctum in Poe2 is just anxiety for me.
- The RNG is just to much, a few unlucky choises and one have to start over again.
- As melee I just take to much "damage" to the honor.
- Some rare monsters in Sanctum are just crazy.
- Traps are not fun in any game.
- It feels like it was implemented to make it as annoying as possible and not fun & challenging.
- It does not matter how much it will be changed or nerfed, it is just plain bad/boring mechanics.
- How come the 2 most disliked leagues from Poe1 became the mechanics for ascending in Poe2?
- I just hate it.

In Poe1 I can spend days running the lab for farming it. It is fun, rewarding and challenging at the same time.

Posting this after dying in Sanctum, 4th ascendency from a vol. plant.

I love Sekhemas. It also becomes super easy once you have a few good relics, especially with enough honor resistance. More damage to bosses and seeing additional rooms also helps a lot. Once you have that set up, you can basically get godmode with all the boons in 9 out of 10 runs.
Overall I like the Trials, but I do think they can go on a little long. Needing to finish 3 floors to get an ascendancy is both a long time and lot of work to accomplish. I think I've tried and failed twice so far just from slowly having honor whittled away. I don't have a solution and I do like the idea of ascendancies being tied to interesting content like Trials and Chaos much more than Lab from 1, but I do wish it was a little more condensed for the mandatory side.

What is your endgame here. You telling me how Sekhemas work think it will make me dislike it less?
Making this post giving feedback to GGG that there are a lot of people that absolutely hate the trials in POE2

My "endgame" here is to state that I love Sekhemas. You know, so GGG can take that into account and doesn't design the entire game around a few loud people saying what they hate. Duh.
Sekhemas is pretty punishing for melee, but I find it encouraging that there's more than one option for ascending. Not because I particularly love Chaos trials, but because I'm hoping that when the game is actually released, maybe they'll use league content as another ascendancy option. I think that would be an interesting approach.
Taking one of the most divisive mechanics in PoE 1 and making it a mandatory part of the game is a baffling decision, especially considering you're making a "non-ARPG" mechanic a core part of an ARPG's progression. A mechanic known for requiring specialized builds in PoE 1.

It's not even that I hate Sekhemas; I just don't think it has any place as an ascension mechanic.
I can probably do Sekhemas blindfolded at this point and I also hate it. It's not about difficulty, it's not hard at all after doing hundreds of times, but it's still just as bad as the first time I did it.

Especially Gauntlet. It's quite clear that Gauntlet is there just to be annoying and prolong the whole run. Again, it's not hard, just extremely annoying. Not to mention that the whole thing feels clunky and completely out of place.

Personally, I won't mind if Sekhemas was gone, or at the very least if it wasn't mandatory if you didn't want to wait forever for Chaos trial. Keep Sekhemas for the loot if you really can't bear to part with this dog water piece of content for some reason, but don't force me to run it.

If nothing above is possible, there's another simple solution:

Keep how things are, but give more options for ascendancy. Preferably something that doesn't kill me out of boredom like Sekhemas.

Personally, I'm level 90, I must have played for around 1,000 hours, and I really like the game EXCEPT for the means of ascension. Sekhemas and Chaos are not only boring but also very discouraging, not to mention the fact that when you do them, you feel like you've worked for nothing. Personally, it ruins the game for me, and I'm stopping at 4 ancestry points. It's a shame.
