I am not excited for the August league - And here's why.
I won't be participating in seasonal servers. They are as cringe as speed-runners. I'll continue to play in Standard and advocate for inclusion of all content across all realms concurrently. League-exclusive mechanics is FOMO nonsense.

" I've got FF14 I'll be fine not playing. Thanks though. Unless actual game development happens and they balance the game instead of doing whatever they have been doing. Then I might play. แก้ไขล่าสุดโดย DankWeebTrash#7386 เมื่อ 17 ก.ค. 2025 08:16:55

Their economy assumes the leagues. Some players will reach level 100 and top tier items for two weeks, the others for month or two. Some will not reach it ever, but they are not their targeted audience anyway. As they suppose the first two types of the players spend more money.
Might be their data is wrong, and it is likely different at least for POE2, since the game has wider audience coverage. Had in the past. But I don't see they have changed their logic, since the economy is the same as in POE1. So according to this leagues will stay. And the most of other prictices form POE1, including nerfs. It was irresponsible to approach new product that way, but it seems even the developer doesn't think it is a problem, hoping Tencent will fund promotional bombs to drop on the targeted audience. Only they may cut off the funding instead, seeing the level of incompetence. happens to the failing companies. Then the game will freeze in this state for ages. And again who's problem is this, why the players should worry if the developer don't? Obvious they don't. Stop being ever-waiting and ever-hoping fools. I only learned about the update in august from this thread. And quite likely I won't even play it, just like the most of those who joined in december-january. Their behavior was insane in that time. Unforgivable. They just got rid from the half of their playerbase by their own hands as if they don't need players? Maybe they decided to resolve their server load issues that way. This is nonsense. |

Three things I've discovered in this long 0.2 league as a mid-casual enthusiast.
1) End game content. Boss fights are fun; mapping is not. 2) Mid-High end loot is still rare. The trade site gets around it by throwing 200,000-400,000 people at it (IDK). I get some people can poop divines, I've accrued about 7 or 8 in 200 hours. 2b) Playing the regular campaign, where you'd likely want low end currency for simple upgrades, gives you none of that currency. 3) Crafting (and ergo the economy) is -MODERATOR EDITED- poop in every conceivable way; from the lack of explanation, the lack of user-determined control, through to shi*-conomics where it's 99.9% more reliable to buy someones late-game offcast than to craft your own level-appropriate item. Who out there spends divines on crafting? Do tell. Chaos Orbs are the new Exalts now the league has matured: who's crafting with these? The rarity of these items vs how useful they are is on some weird-ass logarithmic scale beyond understanding.

" I don't mind mapping. I agree with the rest though. |

They just need to fix trade and loot/crafting. Then we are gonna be cooking.

" They need to fix a lot more than that. Ability balance and notable balance is pretty bad. I also feel like boss mechanics could use a lot of work. แก้ไขล่าสุดโดย DankWeebTrash#7386 เมื่อ 18 ก.ค. 2025 10:13:52

" Skills for some classes are not only bad but sometimes even unplayable. And people want a new content??? Forget it. First priority is the bugs then the balance. Druid class can wait until Christmas release... แก้ไขล่าสุดโดย teobibu#1278 เมื่อ 19 ก.ค. 2025 02:18:15

" I absolutely agree. New content should be pushed back until the game is actually balanced. Not just nerfing the strong stuff. Actually balancing the game. แก้ไขล่าสุดโดย DankWeebTrash#7386 เมื่อ 19 ก.ค. 2025 12:05:30

" Unfortunately the support for standard league from the playerbase just isnt there and new players wont stay long as it is. The game doesn't have real longevity as it hasn't been balanced around that idea. This game will only survive by the content updates it gets. Only way the game has any longevity at all is sheer item scarcity. Which eventually most people just burn out on. So I really doubt this game will ever have a good base of players that continue to support standard league. There's nothing fun outside of beating a couple pinnacle bosses. Most games that have longevity actually have fun or interesting crafting systems, good challenging but fair boss content, or amazing and immersive stories, or some combination of those. The game as it currently stands has none of those really. The game is fun for a bit. However, it has obviously been designed around not having a player longevity cycle that keeps most people around in standard or in the game for longer than a couple weeks. Great game to kill a weekend with beating the campaign and never coming back. Nothing more unless they overhaul some major game design aspects. Seeing that the game has a ~0.2% retention rate from its all time high shows exactly how unlikely people are to stick around for long periods of time in standard league. Only 2 in every 1000 people that play stick around that long.... which isnt exactly great numbers. แก้ไขล่าสุดโดย DankWeebTrash#7386 เมื่อ 19 ก.ค. 2025 19:01:07
