maybe this is the issue you want to address to the devs? better trade UI for consoles/controller?

because what this whole thread requests already exists- you play trade league with self imposed SSF, and if you get stuck you use the few chaos you have to get an upgrade.

As i see it, the most glaring issue here is that alts (orb of alteration) in PoE2 doesn't function as it does in Poe(1).

This quite simply means that while transmutations, alterations and even regals are rather plenty, you are limited by drops that you can actually apply these to. And you only get that single roll, where you used to be able to use as many alteration orbs as you have/had for that second modifier.

This also means that crafting the very basics of an item is less about persistence and all about luck. And even more so when applying more modifiers.

That being said, you do have a few options:

- There are essences forcing certain modifiers, sure. Still not the same as alt spamming though.

- There are omens, with which you can limit and/or provoke certain modifiers. But yes, still not the same as working your way towards that at least perfect or close to perfect 2 stat magic item with luck/time/persistence which is especially important in SSF.

- There are a few more mechanics which can also help you, but they certainly does not lend any helping hands towards the casual SSF player who wants to work their way towards gradually better gear.
