Shade Walker is too much damage

Agreed, this mod is insane. The only thing you can do as melee is bait them out of their damage aoe zone. They actually only drop it when they teleport, so if you bait them away just a little bit you can hit them without being in the degen. Still overtuned and bad mod in my opinion too, but this is how I handle them.
Bump, this mod is still a complete death sentence for people that don't have ES. The DoT against ES is trivial whilst it instantly kills life-based characters.
It doesn't instantly kill me any more becasue I know to book it when I see it as a warbringer, but it makes me have to kite it while dropping totems and fissures and retreating to heal. Melee already feels like basically an elemetalist/summoner wizard and nothing like actual melee after the campaign as it is. Mobs like this just make melee feel even worse as it really hammers home you were never really melee to begin with.

I usually don't complain about difficult content but in this case I actually agree this mod is over-tuned. It doesn't feel challenging it just feels unfair.

Frankly speaking, that can be used to describe almost all of the Abyssal mods. I have no idea what they were thinking with a lot of these. Worst part is that a ton of them are just re-hashes of existing mods, except 10x worse.

Shade Walker == Shroud Walker, except also drop a recovery-blocking DoT ground that is green but not chaos damage, and burns but I don't think it's fire damage, either. Not even sure what damage type it is, to be honest. But the recovery blocking is beyond the worst part.

Volatile Crags, Abyss Version, is the same as the Fire version except also seems to stop recovery and does ridiculous DoT damage.

Soul Siphoner == Siphon Mana Ring, except it's not a ring anymore and also slows you down or reduces your damage.

Proximal Tangibility, Abyss Version, instead spawns a giant black tornado that totally looks like a dangerous DoT, except it's not and you need to be in it to damage things in it, otherwise you do literally no damage whatsoever.

It's like they took a bunch of the worst mods in the game and said, "How can we make these even worse because we hate our players?"

Hello. It is not fun when I fight rare abyss with mobs "Shade Walker"

it is horrible to fight that green flame on floor of it is TOO MUCH DAMGE.

I don't know what's damage type, I assume it is a fire? I have 75 fire resist and 60 chaos resists, but I died for it in 2-3 second with 1,300 hp + 1,900 ES. and I died every time to fight it.

Please balance it, that is not fun.

P.S. I play Acolyte and Sap of Nightmare is bug that is not life leech for chaos damage, That I can't test how I can fight with leech.

I am glad I see your post.

My char died in the abyss depth when a mob suddenly appears besides me and my health just goes down quickly despite me pressing the health potion.

I hardly ever dies since started mapping and this encounter comes as a big surprise to me. I have been thinking about it and trying to figure out what happened .

So I died to a Shade Walker. Are there any remedies for countering against Shade Walker?

It’s a mod that only appears on Abyssal Rares. It’s basically Shroud Walker, but instead of just teleporting on top of you, they also have a puddle of green fire around them that deals physical damage over time for some reason (which is very hard to find mitigation).

They also deal heavy damage, and there’s almost no time to react, as soon as they teleport, you immediately start taking damage. You have about 1.5 seconds to react, otherwise you’re dead.

On top of that, it disables recovery, so no leech or potions, good luck if you’re a melee build.

This mod alone isn’t impossible to handle, you can deal with it. The real problem is when certain mod combinations appear together, they get absurdly strong. For example, if you get this mod combined with the Void one, you're screwed. You’ll have less than a second of damage uptime against it, even if you play nearly perfectly, especially as a melee class.

I don’t mind overpowered stuff in poe, but this one I have to agree, it is overtuned. A few nights ago, I actually had to run away from an Abyss rare because it had Shade Walker and Void together, and my character was very strong. I haven’t had to run from any rare since poe2 was released.
