I don't mind the campaign, but it is too prescriptive to be any fun over and over and over again. In maps, I can skip things that I don't care about. In campaign, you MUST go here or there to get quest items, skill books and passive upgrades. Just let me skip all that if I've already done it once.
And since GGG has been vehement that will never happen. Now how do you feel about the campaign?

They don't want to play an ARPG but market simulator, and anything that is not market simulator they wanna skip.

I just play the game on standard since release. I don't know why they have leagues, it's for invested players who lvl up 2 characters in 2 weeks then stop playing.

Leagues have been part of POE for a decade. They are what keep players coming back to the game and buying cosmetics. Its part of the business model and people get excited at the start of a new league.
Dont know how excited they will be with a 200hr campaign to get through before the real game starts. And no, there is no way to make it more engaging. We can see that on 75% of the player base playing deadeye.

A bot overexxaggerated here campaign is around 20-25 Hours. Deadeye is also only so good this league, because many other Ascendancies just suck.

Says a guy playing deadeye. I hate to tell you this but the large number of "the campaign is good" people in this thread are either playing Deadye and having a very different experience from me or want your Deadeye HAMMER nerfed into the ground so you cant zoom. When you have to spend 15 seconds killing each white pack are you going to be so glib I wonder?

Maps are a different experience. You are at end game with gear and skill points allocated. you have built up enough skill points to make something like a build that has some cohesive structure to it. Rewards to build your gear are coming more often. You are working to get strong enough to take on pinnacles.
I have NOT understood why GGG is obsessing over a super long campaign. Break the campaign up into a series of short stories scattered throughout maps. The player experience would be 100x better.
