Extreme server lag in EU
I'm getting connection nuked every day between 16:00 - 23:00 CET.
The usual 20ms ping starts to fluctuate between 150ms-900ms for about 10-15 seconds and then the game status freezes on the client for exactly 1 minute. Player input is cached during the ?disconnect?. After the "timeout" the action catches up in super speed (sped up 10-30 times I think). This means I can not leave the client, but instead of that I'm forced to switch to POE2 Strategic Simulations mode and try inputting dodges and attacks predicting whatever would happen hoping I would survive. The connection nuke is usually on for about 5-8 minutes for select instances (Hideout/Quest hub OK, but campaign instance bad.. or the other way around). It's not the instance IP that seems to be the issue but rather the last 1-2 hops: Example (excluded first 11 hops) Tracing route to 23.109.220.57 over a maximum of 30 hops 12 12 ms 11 ms 13 ms 172.68.49.10 13 12 ms 12 ms 11 ms 172.68.49.191 14 * * * Request timed out. 15 25 ms 24 ms * 149.11.21.14 16 * * * Request timed out. 17 25 ms 24 ms 23 ms 23.109.220.57 The one minute thing is likely something that was intentionally introduced by an actor (GGG, service provider, IT security). Months ago it started with 15 seconds, then it got increased to 30-31 seconds and now it's 60-62 seconds - an incremental method for combating something.. that drives me crazy when it strikes. |

Something might have gotten funky somewhere in the server code in the last couple updates. US West here. I'll try any US-based server depending on how badly I want to play/keep playing. There are times when the servers start crapping out.
You play, and at some point the lag turns the game into the worlds slowest and least interactive slideshow and only fix is to return to login and try again. I've lost some maps and trial attempts because of this over multiple days. Sometimes it's fine after that. But most of the time if it's happened once, it continues happening until I give up and have to come back "later." Don't get lost by being so focused on the target that you forget to enjoy your surroundings.

Had the mentioned issues on the Amsterdam server, switched to Texas server to try, still same issue. Then to Frankfurt. Same issue. But now it seems to have calmed down for the moment. Latecy is now by around 35 MS. Before it was constant spikes up to 800 MS. I hope I'll be able to play for a while.
