In what way does it negatively affect your experience of the game that a tiny(!) fraction of players who no life the game and have the most expensive gear have some stats that are above average?


He is correct that ES is that high but if you look at their Evasion, they have 100's

Then if you filter by Evasion they mostly have single digit 0's or a few thousand at most in ES

If you filter by Armour they have zero ES or Evasion

If you filter by Life they barely have any of the other defences

And they all fit a specific part of the tree that the nodes enhance

It's not about one defence being OP compared to the other, it's where they are on the tree that works with the specific Ascendency

I'm looking at the right league. There are exactly 14 lich characters in the trade league and 7 in HC with ES above 20k. Again in what way does this negatively affect your game experience that the tiniest fraction of no lifers plays with some god tier gear?

It's not about one defence being OP compared to the other, it's where they are on the tree that works with the specific Ascendency


No its 100% about energy shield being OP comparative to other defenses against dying.


You dont lose all your evasion/armour and then die.

Its life and ES


Which you can get pretty decent life in this game, around the 11k+ mark.

Which requires a 10div chest, which disables your spirit.

A helmet which 0's your elemental res.




Whereas ES.


Let me just get some decent pieces for a few exalts. Literally only 1-5.
Put some points on the tree.

Its endless pages of people


IDK why you're looking at hardcore.


And if you think 20k is where the line should be drawn, or where the problem starts, then we have very different views on balancing.

10k is already too much. To get the equivalent of life in 10k see above for what you need.

You need insane gear, that takes all your spirit and res away.

What are you even on about? You talk about balanced but look at the very very top of the food chain as if that's the experience for everyone playing Lich. As i said most players average around 10k in the endgame.

Looks fine to me. It does not affect the experience of 99.9% of players if the top 0.1% of builds look insane.

1. There are a ton of viable builds. People complaining about no build diversity are not good players.

2. Life is in a bad place. Both armor and energy shield are fine.

3. I don't know about Evasion and Deflection. I'll test that with my next character, no armor or ES. Wish me luck. My plan is an Ice Strike Hollow Palm Pathfinder, so I can focus on defenses when crafting, and use the ascendancy to get Elemental Damage reduction from evasion.

4. The game has legitimate, real problems, like ascending. I hope the devs focus on those real problems.
SSF Rise of the Abyssal Ice Strike Invoker, high survivability and fast clear speed. Deprioritize armor and resistances; prioritize crafting a weapon and faster start of ES recharge. Build is shown at level 47, end of Act 3. It tore through Act 3 like butter.

do math. Pure es is just ehp which recovers after delay.
While stacking armour/evasion allows you to multiply your ehp by defences ~2-3-4x times. While also multiply recovery.

Also, while es can reach high numbers in expensive endgame, it extremely sux for budget. All those es builds can survive only due to their dps output or maneurability, while war can facetank whole game with same tier of gear.
