ONE SHOT MECHANICS SHOULD BE GONE!!!

You'd be correct feeling like that. It isn't a big enough hit pool in any way and most evil evil oneshots happen because of players being severely undergeared or unaware of their complete lack of defensive power.

Currently, a lot of players are rushing/skipping towards T15s way too quickly because they see all the videos and naturally they only invest into DPS to match the speed.

I am running titan rn
Lvl90, 75+ allres, 15+k armour, 4.6k hp, 35%+ block(doesn't matter in this case), chest armour that apply armour to elemental damage. I cannot facetank alot of bosses. Still getting oneshotted by goat centaur boss from savannah, and of course monke. Im afraid of bleeding, big ground explosions (chaos seed spheres especially), explosions after death, aoe ground hots.
I agree with TS. I also think, that ggg fucked up once again with HP only builds; es or mind over matter is almost mandatory (except gemmling), cos you don't have any good source for regeneration of hp (flat regen is too small, leech is phys and still not for warrior, cos we are REALLY slow). Also ggg fucked up with melee 2h once again, but they have tried; we don't have any good defensive mechanics, besides we HAVE to facetank everything, because we are melee.
After all above it is really frustrating, when you have a very decent gear, all defences and still getting oneshotted by some stupid goat.

P.S. I quit D4 after 100++ hours for 2 reasons:
1. No endgame;
2. Uber Lilith with her stupid oneshot mechanics.
What i see now in poe 2 is better, but smells like. Endgame is here, but... it's so made up slowed, that you might not see any pinnacle bosses for months of gameplay.
Oneshot mechanics are from witch's bubbles or pools, in sekhema's, but you can FARM them, while some pinnacle bosses are oneshotting you and your 5-10 div keys are gone. And the most frustrating is that you cannot learn by repeating, cos keys are rare as fuck. And that is even worse than uber Lilith.

Before my friend and I stopped playing, he was melee and I was playing Infernalist minions. He struggled with the content all through the acts. By maps he finally figured some stuff out, but primarily he built to be tanky on life. We were both over 70 doing low tier waystones.

He'd randomly get one shot and have no idea what happened. I'd pull up my Steam recording, go back through it and look for how he died as I also missed it. It was either partially or fully hidden ground effects or corpse explosions. It was just random BS 100 to 0 instantly.

In acts (1-3) all the mobs would chip damage you, slowly chip away at your HP until you died. That is part of what I thought PoE2 was meant to be, no one shot feels bad crap, but chip damage you get to use flasks to help with and gave you a chance to react. If you died you'd just go to the last checkpoint and continue. But the end game turned into PoE1 but worse.
The Problem here is easy to see:

We poe1 Veterans scoff when someone makes this type of post. we are already well aware that mods are dangerous and that normal white mobs from behond the screen can and will oneshot us if the stars align.

But GGG marketed poe2 as a game with tactical combat were player desicion reigns supreme and tactics will get you through. And in this envirnmoent the absolute inability to correctly assess the danger of mobs on the map is counterproductive.
This is not what was annouced, its just poe1 all over again, so grind those loins and senselessly push your ehp. Your skill won't save you only math.

And currently the only matrh that pushes you over real 5-8k ehp is either MoM, Pseudo MoM or ES with those two. Live? hahahaahah... the currently worst defense. Armour? oh gods no, those guys took the same numbers from poe1 where armor can actually be stacked above 20k and didn't change it.

yeah well, i have 2.9k life ,well most of the time about 5.8k with 48% damge taken from mana which pushes the ehp in the realm of 10k and i still get oneshots from normal mobs in t16+ the current meta works just teh same as in poe1. Delete the screen before you see mobs and youre halfway safe.

Unless you are playing an es build with decent gear you arent going to be able to survive everything in the game with your brain off.

You need to learn what is dangerous, you need to know how map mods are going to effect that. Added cold can be nasty because you cant really rely on your charm to save you from getting frozen. Crit mods... pen mods...

Im playing ssf with 2.5k life no es some block and 14k armor 40% chaos and managed to make it to 92 on my warrior so im not dying very often, but ya I cant just faceroll, i have to constantly look out for volatile plants etc.

Was it the beyond/corruption demon that puts out the narrow cone that charges up? cause that thing is deadly- and dont even think its physical dmg >.>


I played PoE for years and i recently learned that this physical reduction % is pure BS! I can see all of you using these numbers and unless i was mislead really badly just because your numbers show that you get physical reduction with X % does not mean it really does... In reality there is some really effed up formula with diminishing returns and other complex math that has NOTHING to do with the physical reduction your character actually receives from monsters.

That is obvious, i know that and im not facerolling or playing braindead. I was telling about it, that i keep all that in mind, but still getting oneshotted by some bosses.

Running soy harmless 15t maps and handshaking on king of the mists, cos key costs 7div is slightly different. Did you even get your 4 ascendancy by yourself?
In before someone says "git gud" or "your build sucks", only for OP to make a strong build and those same people begin crying "omg nerf that build its OP".

Yea playing as a true melee bites hard death effects just randomly kill you because you are in a rares face and killed it because thats where you have to be to kill things.
leveling in the 80's feel more luck by not receiving certain taglines on the rare monstaers that you kill then skill.
