GhazzyTV - Essence Drain & Contagion (or Bane/Soulrend) Trickster [SC/HC/Uber Elder/Shaper]

Right, this is only my second time playing a league from the start, my knowledge is very limited but I've been going through this whole thread trying to make use of different bits of information. I've been pretty damn lucky (in my opinion) and have some ok gear but I am struggling against bosses in maps past T13, both survival and damage.

Could someone have a nosey at my character and give me some advice please?

They are pretty cheap and have good stats. I'm using this, which is the best of both worlds (but lacks the evasion)

Finally managed to 6link my chest, but i've been doing just fine with tabula so far.

I just cleared t12 maps and i think i'm low on damage from now on.

What do you reckon i should invest on next?

I have floating points but can't decide if spending 8 for phase is worth it. I am currently running MoM+Battery+Wicked Ward.

It becomes much easier to justify those 8 points into phase acro if you are not using a Perfect Form, but is your chest really worth those 8 extra skill points? That's the question you should be asking yourself.

MoM+Battery is most efficient when you are reserving very close to 100% of your mana, you are investing in mana reservation nodes on the tree, you have mana reservation on your gear (ie: unique jewel corruptions, lab enchantments, devouring diadem helm, etc..), and when you have a 4-link with enlighten level 4.

There are clear and obvious downsides to using Eldritch Battery, so if you're not taking full advantage of it, it's pretty questionable why you are going there at all. It is good if you are rich and you know what you're doing. But if you're rich, low life with Shav's is the better way to go haha.

Well I am not using perfect form, but I am pretty much nearly right on 100% mana usage, if I go out of bat/ward I can't have everything up.

I think I'll just grab devotion+purity of flesh nodes instead of phase/acro then.

You could have doubled or probably even tripled your damage for a similar cost if you had sold your fusings and spent that currency on multimodding a bow instead of 6linking that armor. I would suggest doing some light research within the last five pages and learning from the discussions that have taken place.

So I got this bow, but I have NO IDEA what to do to it now. I have never multi-modded anything and beyond adding random rolls, I don't really craft much. Any advice on what to do or links on where to look to learn?

Side note: I see a lot of talk about Phase Acro, but can't seem to find what's going on. Are we supposed to be using it or not?

1) Buy a 6link bow off the market. The best ones are Maraketh, Reflex, and Steelwood, because they have the only implicits that matter for us.

3) Scour -> transmute once -> spam alterations until it gets "+1 to level of socketed gems"

4) Regal to change it from magic to rare quality

5) It will have 1 or 2 'dead' mods that you need to remove with annulment orbs.
This step is done because you need a rare item in order to multimod. If you fail and remove the mod we want (it's likely you may fail here), go back to step 3 and try again.

6) When you succeed, you can find a trustworthy person in the services section of these very forums. The guy I used had a 10 or 20c fee, i forget. It costs 2 exalt to put "can have multiple crafted mods". 1 exalt for the +2 to level of socketed gems mod. The rest are a few chaos each.



As for whether or not we 'should' be using phase acro, POE is nice in that there isn't a set way to play skill builds. You've played enough leagues that you should be able to come to your own conclusions on whether the opportunity cost of 8 skill points is worth it, in youre specific case ;)

This is my first league playing ed/contagion, so I might be off on some points but I do think that in the discussion here dodge/spell dodge is not properly appreciated.

I am currently farming uber elder with this build:



Many items can still be improved upon significantly but I am fairly certain that Ire is an extremly good option for this build and that EB is very good even if one does not yet have the proper life/es+mana balance. EB just makes sure that you can ALWAYS cast even if you mess up your timing/aiming of ed in fights where it is very important that you get you cast off.

Just some basic information about gameplay: on T16 maps with ANY mods I will free the whole legion encounter and then charge right into the mess. With 50%/61% dodge/spelldodge + flesh and stone i can do this even on the hardest maps.

One importat point that should be in the guide: the first expensive item you should invest in is a properly multi modded bow - this makes all the difference.

Finally: I do think that the 30% more ed duration is an extremely strong enchant for this build. In all situation where it matters (freen legion, uber elder) it is basically a 30% more mod.

if you buy it arround 7 EX,

if you craft it:

get yourself a 6 link bow above ilvl 50.

alt it until you got +1 socketed gems, regal it. annul it till you got a rare bow with only +1 socketed gems.

Afterwards you can multimod it. Costs for that are 2ex+2ex+ arround 75c incl. tip for crafter.


So if youre lucky you get get below that 7 EX for a allready crafted bow. Needless to say that you need the right colors aka 3b 2g 1r . this can also be pain in the ass ( or in my case get lucky and buy a 6l bow with allready that colors)
