10% exp loss on lvl 95 is 25mln exp
Which is around 2-3 hours of playtime on endgame mapping. You will only get around a million from 79 map, and about 2-3 million from 82 map if doing full clear (that takes time).
People complaining about loss of loot, loss of map, loss of portals, this is a much bigger loss by far. This game is prone to give you sudden death, by random explosions, random mobs and other stuff. แก้ไขล่าสุดโดย GODOFWARSANCHEZ#4574 เมื่อ 24 ธ.ค. 2024 17:15:14 ขุดครั้งสุดท้าย เมื่อ 27 ก.ค. 2025 08:13:58

Yep, it's colossally worse than the exp loss in PoE 1 only because leveling takes that much longer in this game lol

That is the reason I stopped playing.
I need gear to do endgame content. Drop rates are terrible. I wanted to trade, prices are ridiculus. I tried to craft, extremely unlucky RNG. I could go on and keep trying and farming for good items but i lose all my progress and time. And time is important. I value my time. I will wait and see how they will address this. I don't see an issue with keeping the system in the game, so long as it's optional.
But forcing 10% xp loss on death is just an overall bad experience for most players. It's like playing a game for 5 hours, forgetting to save, and then the game crashes. And you're just like, welp. That's it for me, I'm done. And you don't touch the game again. |

You have to take into consideration that there is no content in the game that requires you to be higher then lvl 95.
So I dont think its as big of a deal as you make it out to be. I agree that there are some mechanics that needs tuning that feels bad to die to. But I think its better to give them time to tune those mechanics then removing the exp loss on death | |
" Now that I am 51 with a wife, kids, a full time job, and a life outside of POE1 and POE2; I never want to be punished by losing 2-3 hours of playtime. If this makes it into GA, I will stop playing and find other games to play that respect my time. Ironically, Fromsoft's Elden Ring respects my time far far far more than POE1 or POE2 does at the moment. |

This is not Diablo 3 or 4.
In POE, level 100 is not the goal. |

" Nobody here is talking about reaching level 100, also all the d3/d4 arguments are getting stale af People just hate losing literal hours of progress over a stupid death. That's all. Exp loss is an archaic mechanic that should be forgotten and left in the early 2000s. It doesn't belong in any modern game, at least not as a baseline. If it's an optional challenge that players can opt-into that's fine. But don't force this kind of stuff on all players lol |

" In POE1 T16 maps were 1% of level 100 progress. Running 10 T16 POE1 maps takes less time than running the first Trial of Sekhama to get your ascendancy. Running 10 maps in POE2 is at least 2 hours if not more. The experiences feel completely different because they objectively are. Experience loss on death is a bad time disrespecting mechanic I could tolerate in my 20s. In my 50s, I have better things to do than be one shot and have to waste time getting back to where I was when I died. Fromsoft does this mechanic absolutely correctly, GGG should take a hint. แก้ไขล่าสุดโดย fnsonin#2863 เมื่อ 24 ธ.ค. 2024 17:31:28

When I die, I die because of a strongbox creates a blacksmoke, puts some random ice shards in it which has been obstructed by blacksmoke and some random mobs die and leave red debuffs on the ground which also has been obstructed by blacksmoke and I dont even have an explanation why I died and in addition to that, like losing my map and loot is not enough, i lose my 2-3 hours of levelling and time.
Why? Is this logical? Why losing Map and Loot is not enough? You dont have to beat the dead horse. No sir. This is not fun. A calm and reasonable person.
