No...the majority of players do not hate the game

look everyone can argue all they want. heres the truth. a sizeable percentage of players is freaking pissed. enough to tank the reviews. enough to cause this forum to turn into a battlefield.

any responsible company WILL consider that to be a significant enough threat that they WILL do whatever they can to fix it.

who gives a crap about if its a minority or a majority. THATS POINTLESS.

Not the original poster, but I can tell you this: When you make claims, you need to provide sources. It's your responsibility, and yours alone, to back up any claim with evidence.

I don't have to provide a link to the steam player charts. Everyone on any game forums references them all the time and 99.9% of people understand what is being talked about. And they have already been referenced in this thread before I even mentioned them. I guarantee you there was no one else on these forums that read that I said POE1's player numbers don't go up as POE2's go down and didn't think it was factual.

Seriously, it is a two second google search for "steam player charts" and then you can search for whatever game you want to see the player numbers for on steam. I don't even know what else to say. I've been referencing the steam player charts for the last few weeks on this forum and referencing them for years on other forums on the internet and never once ran into an issue with someone who didn't get it. I mentioned the steam player charts in the post. I didn't have to reference any more than I did, the rest should have been common sense.

This thread is a prime example that ppl don't understand the data they are looking at... have you seen all the responses I had to make!?

The point is, the Steam numbers do not support your claims.

It has become way too accepted nowadays to just pretend proof is readily available if one just goes looking for it, but that's not how this works.

As Hitchens' Razor so succinctly puts it:
What can be asserted without evidence can also be dismissed without evidence.

+1

The burden of proof is responsability of the one providing the argument, if he can't do it, it just malarkey.

Regardless of any link, the issue is that you have the same recurrent flaw in your point. We don't have the actual numbers to judge on that, so each one has his own perception of "majority".

The only numbers that we have are from steam, and any of us need to keep in mind that's it is a deformed picture of the reality.
If anything, we can see that PoE2 and LE are in the same order of magnitude right now, and that your supposed "majority" isn't much of a fact, but an opinion. And even if majority could be a thing, it's not definitive, it's changing overtime.

When you say stuff like :
"
You don't believe that it is factual that the 100K players that stopped playing POE2, didn't go play POE1?

You don't prove anything regarding figures, you only prove your understanding limitations. Noone knows how players overlap. People can and do play multiple games on the same day. You say they didn't go play, maybe there were already there. The measure isn't the same either (China market hello). You can't compare apple to apple. We - don't - know.
And the beauty is that it doesn't matter. When dealing with big numbers, trends are the most important, because they remove the random variations, data errors etc.

That's why your point is moot, and why you have been asked for proof (rhetorical for : there is no proof, that's just your opinion, which is flawed on top of that).

Yes, you do have to provide that link. It's your responsibility to do so. It's also your responsibility to explain why that link contains proof for what you claim.

What you did is essentially claiming "bread is the number one cause of death" and telling people to "just google mortality rates" because everyone who died also ate bread at some point.

Personally, I don't care if that "tactic" worked for you in other forums and for other games. I have a scientific background, so my bar for what I consider "a source" or "proof" is just a little bit higher than "trust me bro, the evidence is there, just google it".

Of course we don’t hate it. I’m glad you made this post. I see loud people angry that this new and better POE requires skill as well and build understanding. It’s very threatening to them. They are great for clicks though so you get the usual spam.
this game is bad in its current state) stop shitposting

I've been noticing a lot of people tossing around the steam reviews and using it as reference to claim that "most players" are turned away from the game and that they are the "majority" of players. This of course, is so far from the truth and is not bored out once you inspect the data. So let's break it down and showcase why these people are wrong and that the MAJORITY of players are having a positive experience and enjoying themselves.

Since the launch there as been 141,321 total reviews. Currently, on steam it breaks down as following;

Since April 4th;

Negative: 17,601

In the last 30 days

Negative:13,549

Total players daily average since April 4th- 87,839

Percent of players who casted negative reviews since April 4th
Negative: 15.42% of daily playerbase.

source: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2694490/Path_of_Exile_2/#app_reviews_hash
https://steamcharts.com/app/2694490

So No...I know you want to pretend you are the majority but you are not. Even if you look at this forum and reddit. Both of them with people leaving negative reviews STILL account for less than 20% of the total player base.

Stop it cause its kind of sad that ya'll use this stuff and don't even understand the data you are trying to present as evidence of your argument.

You know what I love about video games these days? I love how they can take a perfectly good idea... and absolutely f**ing destroy it.* That's talent, folks! That's not easy to do! You gotta be a special kind of stupid to screw up something called Path of Exile 2: Dawn of the Hunt.

Now, first of all... 'Dawn of the Hunt?' What the hell does that even mean? Sounds like something a drunk redneck screams before falling off a four-wheeler. 'IT'S THE DAWN OF THE HUNT, CLETUS! HOLD MY BEER!'

And what are we hunting anyway? Fun? Coherent design? A f***ing user interface that doesn’t look like it was drawn on the back of a Waffle House napkin? Because we sure as hell ain't finding it!

This game’s idea of a good time is giving you twenty-seven skill trees, fourteen resistances, ninety-eight currencies, and about three minutes of actual fun. It’s like doing your f***ing taxes but with more wolves and less refunds!

And the campaign? Jesus! I've seen hospice patients move faster! 'Dawn of the Hunt'? More like 'YAWN of the Hunt!' I fell asleep somewhere between my fifteenth broken build and my third crash-to-desktop.

But don't worry! They said it'll get better with patches. Patches! Yeah! You know what patches are, folks? They're little bits of duct tape they slap on the Titanic after it's already halfway underwater. 'Don't worry, we’ll patch it!' No, you won't! You’ll patch it into another f***ing disaster!

And let’s talk about the graphics — oh yeah, the new graphics! Shiny! Detailed! Realistic! Everything except for the part where it’s supposed to be FUN. It's like polishing a turd and then selling it as an antique. 'Oh look, it’s ultra high-definition diarrhea!'

And don’t even get me started on the monetization. Fifty bucks for a pair of boots that don't even f***ing exist! They're digital! You can't even wear 'em to Denny's to scare children!

So congratulations, Grinding Gear Games! You made a game that's about as much fun as a colonoscopy... but without the free lollipop at the end.

"Bows deeply, fake applause to himself"

PATH OF EXILE 2: DAWN OF THE HUNT! HUNT YOUR SANITY, folks! GOOD F***IN' LUCK!
They have like 70k players and launches to 600k (on steam)

Stop white knighting, such delusion is detrimental to the future success of this game.
