Volatile plant, volatile plants, volatile plants...

Please for the love of God can we tone this shit down already? This is already a game where melee is disadvantaged at every corner, do we really need an anti-melee mod that force melee to stop dps every 2 seconds for like 5 seconds to dodge and avoid and try to make the purple orbs explode? Or that randomly kills you because getting hit by a single one does more than half your health despite max chaos res and causes your death simply because you couldn't see the plants being cast on top of you while you are fighting through ignited ground and lightning and all the visual clutter? Or that literally 1/4 of all ritual maps are just straight up bricked for melee? Or that is still active after death? Do we really need more anti-melee mods on top of temporal bubble and all the freeze mods?

Please for the love of god I am crashing out...

Yeah I'm a Merc and stopped trying ritual alters entirely since their hot fix that buffed those orbs without telling anyone
Try leap slamming around them. They are so damn fast they can collect under you midair and pop when you hit the ground with no chance to dodge.

They definitely changed something with them. They seem faster and way way more frequent.

IMO they need to slow down their speed and their ignition length and also be more visible when being generated by the plants. Literally cannot see the plants when they are spawned in a mass of enemies.

This is a real issue with the game, and in fact, is part of the reason i am sure there is literally no one play testing this game @ GGG.

There is not one person alive who has played this, that hasnt seemingly said the same thing, there is just TOO MUCH SHIT (particle fx, upon particle fx, upon particle fx) blocking out visuals.

I'm not out to tell GGG 'how to fix' this exactly, as lets face it, the game does visually look fucking fantastic, but too much?

It needs to be addressed, or modifiers need to be adjust to compensate for the visual handicap. But... instead, GGG just buffed the bloody thing, all the while boasting 'improved drop rates' yet, leaving this buff out of the notes. O,o

That aside, I genuinely hope you didn't quit Rituals entirely for this reason. When you mouse over a Ritual it tells you what the effect is going to be, so you could just skip the ones with volatile plants and do all the others.

The change to orbs also made them despawn after events end which is a change many people have been asking for, but god forbid we acknowledge when GGG listens and acts on player feedback.

Incidentally, I think the buff to orbs was to fix their speed to Monster modifiers - I think it's either cast, attack, or move speed. So if orbs are consistently ruining your day maybe try to experiment with different maps and see if they're slower with different affixes.

If they dump a bunch of developer hours into optimizing the visuals as they exist today and then turn around and add a ton of new abilities and effects to the game, there's a big risk that they end up having to redo a lot of that work.

Fully agree the game runs like hot farts right now but I'm confident they'll sort it out.

For the love of god please fix this. We shouldnt be getting 1 hit and die. I just posted another issue on feedback about a single white mob just killing people in 1 hit. This shouldnt happen either. Especially when I lose xp for it. These plants to with that poison and the flower with that orb need a rework or remove it completely its over powered and just not cool.
Looks like I will be waiting a while to get back into this game. Its stuff like this that turns me off to get back into playing this game.

More loot...but die quicker quick fix =(

The orbs are faster regardless of modifiers.

Do you honestly think I'm in the endgame and don't know how to dodge, especially as a Merc?

The video you posted looks like early endgame and it's in an open space. My experience involves twice as many enemies sometimes surrounding me and the screen gets so cluttered with effects I can't even see the orbs, sometimes dodge doesn't even work when surrounded. It's even worse if the alter is in a bad spot which is almost guaranteed on some maps.

In case everyone had forgotten - it was mentioned by the lead dev that the reason that players are unable to turn off visual effect is because he is afraid it might break visual effect.

Let that sink in for a while.
