That's not how it works. If you tell me 1+1=3, then it's not MY duty to provide you with a counterproof, but YOUR duty to prove your own statement. I'm sorry, but that's how the world works.

It's clearly you who is arguing in bad faith. Multiple people have already explained rationally that the last few points have almost no impact on builds. The way the talent tree works and the math behind the game's calculations dictate this.
If you want to claim otherwise, the burden of proof is on you.

They will never change it, Mark thinks its needed.
In its basic form exp penalty is to force players to learn the game through punishment. It does work as a psychological experiment you can read the countless research done on it (not game related but inter connected).
Yes as part of the punishment model the higher someone gets the harsher it needs to be for that player to develope other skills.
With all that said, new players are not used to this concept and lack understanding why its in the game.
As i have mentioned before it would be nice for Mark to explain his perspective and does it matter in an early access game when players are going to be dealing with huge changes before 1.0 release.
I am for and against it, in a full release game with a POE style game play i am for the loss. In an EA game its a big NO shouldnt need to explain why.
EXP loss is literally only noticeable post level 90. Players who reach level 90 are not new.
Also, as has been explained over and over and over again, level post 90 are optional, not required for any content, and provide only very minimal additional benefit in terms of character power. Those levels are not meant to be achieved by everyone. EXP loss in place to ensure these last 10 levels required effort and dedication, that they are something for the most invested players to chase, and to provide a modicum of a competitive element to the game in the form of a ladder.

How is dying to lag different from dying to bugged combat mechanics? A lot of people here repeat how mysterious "skill" is the cornerstone of not dying. 2x ball damage * 2 chaos-to-ES mult * 3 balls = 12x bugged extra damage per 1 volatile cast. What use is a "skill" if you get hit outside of intended balance curve? (Let's pretend poe has said curve for a moment).
Will GGG recompense people who lost days of progression from volatiles at level 93+? Will GGG hotfix those issues faster in the future, or will GGG only hotfix balance issues beneficial to players (in real time)?. I think you know the answers.
I've maybe died to volatile plants once in the past month. So either magically your plants are bugged and mine are not... or... it's a skill issue after all?
If you routinely lose "days of progression" due to volatile plants, it's definitely a "you-issue."

They don't want people to progress they want you constantly wasting your time and resources.
The game is cancer of the soul as in it will eat away at you causing frustration, anger and a hollow feeling inside. IMO GGG do not care about anything except your money.
I will lose out on game crashes which wipe out entire waystone runs and it will still give you the death penalty even though you do not die and you lose the entire waystone and its progress. It's still not clear on what does kill you sometimes. How about a death recap??? or is that beyond your capabilites? How about making it so some abilities can actually be seen before they kill you as its not always clear why and what. Do we get compensated for wasted time. NO GGG do not care in the slightest. They see the hatred for their game and just simply ignore it. They're a AAA company now, probably akin to EA
