I finally tried minions.. how on earth is this balanced??

whats that? you play ssf? you might as well delete the character. the chances of you getting a drop, or gamble, or slam with +4 minions. or +2 or 3. for their respective item slot are so low it isnt even worth the time to farm for them.... and some of them are literally, unfarmable... gl getting the correct +skill on sunsplinter to drop.. and even more luck corrupting it! that should be a blast right!!!!

and dont forget spirit! if your +3 minion amulet doesnt have spirit, its not good. same with your chest. and your +4 sceptre needs spirit, or its bad ... oh and dont forget to corrupt it for +1minion or all spells... and dont forget to do the same for your +2 minion helmet... thats fun right!?

and even more good luck getting res capped while you do it. and hopefully you get some divines, to reroll endless ventors x2 for spirit. oh ya... and gl finding ventors....... and corrupting both of them for more spirit!

have fun farming sapphires or rerolling them for +4 minion cast/attack speed and +14-15 minion dmg... while finding probably +es. or pressence. or any other desireable stat.. its a blast! dont forget to corrupt those too!

oh and good luck being locked into 3/4 of your passive tree being the same as every other minion player regardless of which type they use... some real build diversity there right?!!??

BUT HEY... you can always reroll LS and clear 3 screens with one button with 150% rarity to finance your minion char i guess.... right?

oh wwwwait. your ssf. refer back to deleting the character.



Man I already forgot about having to roll + ranks to minions on gear (and ye I cannot buy them in SSF, the trade is really annoying for me when people dont know how to price items and its just a pain to trade in general atm).. I had a couple +2 minion items from my Galvanic guy who made it to T14 maps very easy but then

I decided to pause the game when chaos balls were exploding on me and I was like "Wait, if I relog the explosions EFFECTS always dissapear, does it mean they dissapear and do no damage?" I relogged, unpaused and insta died without any EFFECTS showing up lol, no idea why I wanted to limit/bug test with my actual SSFHC toon, was bored anyway (mostly because there are no proper mid endgame bosses) so you have to play sooo long these same maps, hoola hoop between towers and maps and rng buff maps.. huh the Atlas is a whole other thing to talk about.
Basicly I think why endgame is boring for me is that once you hit maps thats it, the first T1 map will be same as the last T15 map you run.. Diablo 4 might even be better lol.

Yeaa but they should have had this data in January, February. Tweaking numbers, releasing a hotfix and ask people how does that feel would have been pretty easy and quick way of doing it, after all its a public early access and a FREE to play game so getting a lot of good data (ask Ghazzy lol) is not a problem.

I'm a minion player, it's the only thing I played and will ever play and I have around 1300 hours in. Word of advice, if you play minions again, do not touch any spectres, they don't exist. It's a dead mechanic from day 1 and nothing is being done about it.

Overall, the minion class got butchered by the balancing team and it appears that the devs have never played that class in end game extensively because they would realize how bad they've done us. Every single aspect of the minion class has been brutalized :

1 - Reduced spirit in multiple fronts :
1.a) Against the Darkness no longer has any viable spot
1.b) Butchered uniques like oakswarn. Ingenuity + Ventors synergy ruined.
1.c) Sceptre quality no longer increase spirit

2 - Reduced +Skill on Sceptres/Trenchtimbre went from possible +4 to max +2
3 - Reduced damage scaling from +Skill mechanics ON TOP of that
4 - Aura of presence reduced, so you are forced to Node them
5 - Removal of minion damage skill tree nodes, nothing good to enchant anymore
6 - Removal of jewel nodes, that is the main way to progress DPS.
6.a) This is a very bad one. Because the gems were super rare anyways, and
would cost over 200 div. This completely destroy tree diversity.

7 - Removal of grim feast (adios T4 sims in SSF)
8 - Nerf of pain offering and curses like conductivity
9 - Nerf of multiple support skill gems. Scattershot is literally bricked.
10 - The hounds from infernalist no longer absorbs 20% damage...........

How could these changes possibly have a negative impact on the class right?

I'm sure I'm missing stuff, but as you can see, the minion class got completely ruined. Before 0.2 patch hit, I read the notes and it was very clear it would be atrocious. They have so many things to balance and there is just no way they knew what they were doing if the goal was to balance it correctly. All this was pure savagery. The point 3 (damage scaling) was ridiculous when 0.2 hit, and they did a hotfix so it would not be as bad as it was when they implemented 0.2, but it's still pretty bad.

Seriously now the problem with minions lies to the number of minions. Devs shouldn't allow so many minions by one character but instead 5max. These Minions should have 5x more damage and defences and also character that control minions should be buffed 2x.

Imagine to make party with 2 characters that control 12 minions each. The gameplay would be awful. I see all time in creation of a party, people write: Minions not allowed. I understand these people couse with ton of minions in map you can't actually do anything right, you cant move, you cant see, you cant recognize objects, it's a hell....

go reroll. play lich. use skele warriors and skele archer like we had to do. SPOILER ALERT... you wont have 5 minions until like... level 20-30 somewhere in there. so once you have 5. dont add more.

i will even let you put 2/3 lv 2 or 3 support gems in them to simulate your 'more dmg'. cuz we wouldnt have those gems to put into them on a fresh character. but you can to simulate your theory.

tell us how long it takes you to complete the campaign. ive done it twice this patch. and one char i deleted at lv 40 out of pure frustration that i had 4 gems on my archers. so really 2.5 times.

so i know the anwser without the gems and with them. to all of this. your whole post. and you aint gunna like it. and guess what. neither did ANY minion player.

and in 10+ years of poe. ive never been not let in a party, or kicked out of a party, due to minions.

if anything, people like playing with minion players. why? cuz they can afk. or they like the awareness its brings, with a bunch of insert spell/skill effect here flying to the next pack. or the minions melee body blocking packs so they can spam. or because the minions can still dps the boss, while they are dodge rolling x4 to get into position to dps.

im sorry. but your post is completely wrong. and uninformed.

its not like they have a content creator who for the most part only plays minions, who has a literal, direct line of communication to jonathan and literally interviews him....

to tell them how shit minions are. and how bugged they are.

or a huge community(that i am apart of) that literally, tested every single spectre in the game within a week of release of spectres.... and is very vocal about how bad minions are in general in terms of gear, spirit, number of minions, damage, movement speed, alleys and doorways... i mean. i could go on here...

minions were underperforming on the release of poe2, with the ONLY outliner being raging spirits build. which should have got nerfed. not hit with a nuke like they did.... and everything else.

the fact that spectres, one of the main features of this patch, is in the sorry state they are and havent been patched BY NOW is a joke.

the fact that minions players have to level as SOMETHING ELSE to get threw this terrible campaign is a slap in the face.

the fact that minion players have to pay multiple body parts worth of currency to even GET TO t15 maps... is absurd.

there isnt a light in the tunnel. they snuffed it out this patch when they killed the arsonist / spirits build. the only minion build that was any good. and then nerfed all the rest of them beacuse of it.

dont tell us 'change is coming'

its not. theyve been shitting on minion players for 10 years. and it aint stopping anytime soon.

and it SHOULD BE A PRIORITY for them to make minions great. there are literally, thousands and thousands, of people who only play minions. and only play this game because of minions.

the fact that minions are this bad. is utterly disgusting.

I would add that a minion player use a sceptre, and that sceptre buffs applies on all allies. On standard I have a sceptre that gives + 104 increased damage and 20% cast speed, this is not a bad thing to have when in a team.

But on the other hand, I can understand if players don't want to team with minion players, because of the clutter in rituals we are adding and overall we do much less damage than them

i used to begin as minion infernalist then i deleted char coz this character epic sucks. I began as a bloodmage this time . Im bored one shot death coz of server laggy then %10 exp loss, middle age trade system with chinese macro ppls as in every game , always fps drop (btw my eyes very tired of this) etc etc etc .this season epic failed. I deleted the game i suggest u the same. Gl

They literally do, it even shows in advanced info.

I've played SSF minions as my only characters in 0.1 and 0.2 and I've no idea why people are having such a struggle. Aside from occasional bugs shutting minions out of boss arenas in various maps or pathing issues in corridors, no issues progressing through campaign and atlas. I'm not HC but I had like 5 deaths in total in maps whilst getting nearly every basic atlas point. I've stopped playing because I don't have time and what's left is mainly bossing which I don't enjoy with any build, but I'm not seeing what everyone's issue with getting through the campaign and atlas basics is. Maybe because I don't follow along with what's meta and don't care there are other OP builds existing that can 1 button clear things. Very end end game minions may be an issue, didn't get to it, but it's early access and people should expect poor balance.

But you see, this is exactly the problem. Yes minions can clear T15 maps but if you overjuice them you can get killed quite fast.

Minion build used to be able to clear any T4 pinnacle without a problem. Not only now it's a problem, it's a real struggle to the point it's most likely bricked for T3-T4 content if you are in SSF or HC.

If you play trade league then T3 is probably still accessible but very hard and T4 sims is probably impossible.
