New update and continued console game crashing!?!??!??
Same problem as others are reporting. PS4 client running on PS5.
Please roll back the latest patch, as sound was fine and the game playable before. |

Don’t bother trying to contact support. I got a response from them that said they aren’t currently offering support due to “limited staff resources.”
They just sent me a link to their troubleshooting page which only has steps for PC users. Us console users are nothing but an afterthought. The update is broken. Period. I have uninstalled and reinstalled both the PS5 and PS4 clients and the issue is the same. The sound stops, then the game just freezes. No disconnect or booting me to the login screen. Just frozen. Several maps have seemed totally empty at the start, even though I’m running Delirium layers, Exarch, and scarabs for extra packs. Then, I suddenly just die. I realized that the monsters were there, but completely invisible, as were hazards, ground effects, and anything you can interact with like altars and strongboxes. Some maps don’t even load the terrain properly with blue squares dotting the map. In all the years I’ve played POE, this is the worst issue yet encountered. I’ve experienced all kinds of problems with the game over the years (let’s face it, POE tends to be a laggy mess in the best of times) but I think this is it for me. If only GGG would admit there’s a problem with the patch and roll it back, I’d be happy. But straight up telling me they’re not offering support and suggesting it’s something on my end is beyond the pale. Eff it, I’ve been wanting to try Diablo IV for a while now anyway. |

" I've already tried that and it's not helping. It's freezing about every 30 seconds in a map. I'm on Ps5 btw. |

You might want to run this update back until you can fix the issue's. In "fixing" the audio you've not only managed to not only break the audio but also game stability. The game will now completely lock up requiring a comple hard reset. This happens so frequently that it has become completely unplayable. The longest I've managed between freezes is about 15 minutes. It was completely fine before this update.

As everyone else is saying, the game on ps5 is completely unplayable. It constantly freezes and forces you to close the game. Clear cache and database rebuild don’t do anything. I’ve never had this issue prior to the recent hot fix.

All - I've turned all of my sound settings to off, far left. I have not had a freeze in 1 hour of play. I still hear some sounds like in hideout but not much when playing. So try this for the time being. But lost 1 day of playtime and likely unable to complete campaign....sadge

Welp the game is once again in a comepletely unplayable state. This is in part an audio related bug as immediately upon the innital patch the audio sound effects for transferring/selling and dropping began to either cut out completely or play in a quick distorted "chirp" like way. Shortly after all the crashes began.
It culminated with the last map I tried to run crashing 4 times in a row. Everytime I tried to approach the same loot pile that never fell to the floor (so im sure the sound effects where held in suspension) the game immediately locked up with the audio looping. Requiring full exit to PS homescreen. Just a tip for you guys from personal experience, make sure to backup your data and have a backup HDD ready to go because if your constantly reinstalling and clearing cache as GGG suggests as routine maintenance you can expect the life expectancy of your HD/SDD to be "negatively" impacted. |
