Please don't lock us out with Rapid Shot
I'm literaly only here to add my voice to this issue in the hopes GGG reconsiders this.

Rapid Fire: 100 bolts per clip, 96% attack Dmg, 550% speed.
Armor Piering Rounds: 21 bolts per clip, 91% Attack dmg, 425 % speed. Also, even if u had mentioned it before twice doesnt make it true. Armor Piercing Rounds are not doing more dmg at all. Also 21 Bolts are fired in no time. Assume having attack speed stacked for powerfantasy, you will empty the magazin way to fast (APR) or heat up in 6s with 0 attack speed bonus(RF). " You are correct. I made a mistake of using the poe2wiki for armour piercing rounds it says (20-166)% of base but the 166 is for level 40 not 20. Also there are several ways to mitigate the reloading. The problem is the heat lockout. There are ways to get bolts a % chance to not be consumed or automatic re-loading when heavy stunning(support gem) or even alternative ways like using emergency reload or even ignoring all that and just straight up making reloading faster. The problem is the heat lockout in rapid shot. If that is maintained there is no point using the skill beside to set up Incendiary Shot against bosses. |

to be honest rapid fire wasn't even strong not to mention its clear speed was meh
at this point i dont understand what are they doing and in what way they was us to play whit crossbows what is their philosophy for crossbows ... at this stage crossbows is a a more complex more annoying version of a "bow" and u also got to spent passive points and jewel stats just to address the Reload speed not to mention THERE IS STILL A RELOAD BUG THAT THEY DIDNT FIX -__________- |

I don't think they want players to clear maps with a single button. They want screen clears to have a little bit more execution difficulty. Now will that be fun? I don't know. It could be. Rapid fire with some grenade weaving, could "conceptually" be fun. I'm willing to give it a try, but I agree it doesn't look like it will be fun.

Looks like Rapid Shot is kinda a paypoff skill. Debuff Monster with Armor Break, Sunder and so on. Than burst 45 rounds of doom into the boss. That could be something within 3s (45 Rounds a 96% dmg) Base dmg will be 1440% weapon dps, with all the debuff multi on top its kinda strong for a paypoff. Could like 3000 % weapon dps with all buffs and gem lvl, which is kinda a thing. You can alternate the rota than with hand of god oder Supercharged Slam, so two payoff rotas within 10s or just stop at around 40 heat and repeat.

" i had lots of fun with nade 'weaving' (start with oil and drop few frags) with artillery ballista and siege cascade (to finish pinned packs). unfortunately it was too slow to 'spin up' so had to abandon as i couldn't do most content and needed to constantly swap to my alt to finish maps. hope this will get better (doubt it) |

the issue is that 10 sec cool off period makes rapid shot not viable for endgame. it wasn't viable even before. If nades give value to be plunked every couple of seconds people will do that any way why make it mandatory.
Moreover we don't know what this 10sec cool off means. Does it go away if the heat is reduced if consumed by nades or incendiary shot? if it is 10 sec cool off no matter what then it is the dumbest thing ever. |

Plasma gun from Darktide mechanics? I mean, when you can "steam off" the gun by reload before reaching the point it will explode after. Some "heat" aura while heat is fading by channelling?

On a second thought it might end up being ok. As of now u can shoot all u want and a low level rapid shot reaches only 17 heat. Ofc this is about to change. Heat generation will change to once per attack vs once per .25 sec as before. Base aps of rapid shot is 11 and it can go up to somewhere around 30. so there might be a sweet spot where we can find skills to cycle rapid shot with. So I ll give it a shot and see.
