bad performance on decent computer

The abyss encounters are the main issue I have; they triple my CPU usage when they spawn a cluster of enemies in maps. It kind of makes the abyss mechanic unplayable for me at the moment, but the rest of the game is fine.
Yep. Having serious performance issue but would like to point out that the game was *mostly* performing well *until* getting to Act 4. I was getting well over 100 FPS most of the time (frequently it was at my cap of 143) but as my spells and enemy spells got more intense and I started on the new content my performance has plummeted. I'm now stuck at about 50 FPS out of combat and it gets cut in half in big fights.

Just want to also point out that the ground clutter is absolutely INSANE. I can't see anything. Granted I'm playing a witch with lots of minions including 2 Vaal guards throwing explosive grenades that cover huge areas in fire and then I'm blowing it up with poison arrows so it's not that surprising the performance is bad with how much is going on. It looks really cool but I can't see anything to avoid detrimental AEs and sometimes it becomes an absolute slide show. Kingsmarch is also really bad just sitting there (so is my hideout for some reason). Only getting 30 FPS in those two places.

For those who mentioned crashing someone else suggested to me that I switch from DirectX to Vulcan to prevent the crashing/freezing up. This actually did work for me and I haven't had that annoying "freezing" with the gears. Sadly, this hasn't improved the overall performance or FPS.
