The fun meter got to high and they had to take the servers down immediately.

Well I was killing a boss and the client locked. Got the typical not responding pop up and clicked it to kill the client. Yet somehow ended up back in the boss fight still alive and finished that.

Went to town and locked up with an actual client crash. Tried to log back in saw a line of a few thousand people then it hard locked my pc.

So I don't know what was going on, but the game crashing shouldn't make me do a forced shut down of my pc. Then again why not I guess. Hadn't had any real issues previous to this... but yes I'd say this was an unplanned event.

While I was in the middle of something too and am bugged by the maintenance, it probably was not something planned but rather a crash or something very urgent.

Also, lets not forget that the game is still EA.
Kinda childish to blame GGG like that for this imo.

I get "emergency maintenance" but let's be honest, how often do they really walk in and flip the switch and kill the servers? Pretty much doesn't happen. They could have given 1 minute warning at least and someone would be hard pressed to prove to me otherwise.

While that is true, the game is an EA and the servers are more stable than most fully released games most of the time, while I agree that a notice would have been nice, this is not a deal breaker, if you lost something due to the server shutdown just write a ticket and I am certain the Devs would be more than happy to help you get items/harcore characters back. I know it is not ideal but, GGG are usually really good when it comes to maintaining the game and helping the player base with any issues that might arise either due to the game being in EA or just a mess up on their side.

Why the fk do i have to lose my ascendancy progress because of a ggg fk up?
