For people having FPS-Issues

It's fantastic i can play the game in 1440p with all "default" setting and it drops only to 40fps fluid (was dropping to 30 fps stuttering) whiles there is abyss monsters.

I have no words. You genuinely made me happy . Every exploding packs with no fps drop... :')

Nice! Happy grinding :)

Edit : without dynamic culling it seems to be stable o_O . I keep testing.

RIGHT?!
Why is that the case? I struggle to explain why turning it off does something as it should reduce load under heavy scenarios...

I think this feature has been born somewhere in the depths of console-optimization and is simply hurting any half-decent computer.

I am personally CPU-bound on my current setup and i can run the game on 3440x1440 with no upscaling and at 100% render resolution. (= Using an upscaler / Render Resolution doesnt increase FPS or frame stability in any scenario, it just makes the game look muddy)

... for the 1 guy interested:
to see if you are CPU or GPU limited you can just compare the numbers on the Performance Graph (F1 by default)
If the number for CPU is constantly higher than for the GPU => CPU-bound
If the number for GPU is constantly higher than for the CPU => GPU-bound

What to do when CPU-bound?
Nothing, really. Upgrading/Overclocking is pretty much the only thing left when you tried everything that has been mentioned. Process priority might be something to look into, but it likely wont have dramatic effects.

What to do when GPU-bound?
If your GPU is the limiting factor, then Upscaling (FSR/DLSS/XeSS) will take some load off your GPU, allowing for overall higher FPS. It is effectively the same as reducing render resolution, but looks less muddy.

... extra mention:
Some Fullscreen Applications do not run smooth on Windows when you play a video on a second monitor. If you always watch YouTube/Twitch/Whatever while playing, try using "Fullscreen" instead of "Windowed Fullscreen" when comparing the numbers.

there are also some launch parameters to allow games to use "exclusive fullscreen", apparently its
"
-window-mode exclusive -screen-fullscreen
for steam. Cannot confirm, if someone wants to take a dive pls share results :D

doesnt work but thanks

we could just have the devs deliver a game thats not unplayable on 99% of the machines but yeah, lets come up with more guides
Can someone else please test this launch option on steam and tell me if they got more FPS?

-window-mode exclusive -screen-fullscreen

I just added it and it seems to perform a lot better.
[Rightclick Path of Exile 2 in your Steam Library -> Properties... -> copy+paste it under General-> Launch Options]

Im not even using fullscreen, im still on borderless.

Edit: its so much better that i can now use FSR, it drastically lowered my CPU latency

Thank you!
I just came on to the forums to write a PSA post for people to update their cache limit.

Poe2 caches HARD. My game felt sluggish past few days, checked my dxcache folder and it was over the 8gb limit. I tried testing and it looked like it was just writing files over itself instead of caching new shaders.

Updating it to 100gb solved it.

Default is 8gb, which is usually fine even if you play through 3 or 4 games you probably won't cache that much.. but poe2 makes full use of shader caching so make sure to change that. It might be a good idea to just delete all the cache files and start from scratch but you'll have some stuttering while it starts caching everything again.
My pc runs perfectly fine other games.

I dont see how i have to change something in order to play this arpg like it was crysis 3 or something...
....or GGG should fix their game.

Already had cache size increased. I've switched between DX12 and Vulkan.

Fact is there's a nasty shader bug on the game's side that GGG needs to resolve.
