I played this build from 3.7 and it was great until 3.9. Yesterday I hit 20 waves and by the 20th wave I didn't deal much damage to the last 2 bosses, just 1 hit and I died. My information is open, can someone help me improve the situation?



Bosses were buffed greatly in 3.9 and we no longer walk over them like in the past. Everyone faces the same issue and was complaining about it in 3.9.

Perhaps you want to consider allocating into some more life passives in the Passive Tree so you can reach 6k+ life pool to have less 1 hit situations? GGG always overtune their newly released content.

one question, if I get a dying sun, do I get more single target dps? like does it shotgun

It only gives you better AOE coverage, no shotgun. :)

why no point blank notable? obviously for single target, where it matters

also if dying sun is useless that means for single target it's better to remove the rain of splinters

With the changes/nerfs to equipment

- From 100% more damage with arrow hits at close range to 50% for Chin Sol and now we are using Quill Rain instead of it.

and skills

- Point Blank now deals 30% more damage at close range instead of 50% in the past
- Ballista Totem is placed besides us instead of at range


Point Blank isn't an automatic fit to the build at this point as we will be playing at range because of the above.

That said, if one wishes to play up close and personal so he can take advantage of Point Blank, feel free to!



I have in mind a variation of this build where it uses Point Blank which I will post when I have time to write out the details.

It's definitely better though not everyone likes to do equipment swapping.

Hi, I've done all the content atm and im sitting with 102k tooltip dps at HO.

Which items can i change for improve the build? I've 50 ex so atm I cant afford the +2 Fire +2 Projectile Corruption and i've self crafted the +1 / +1 amulet.

I was runing my Chieftain version with the very old guide and very minor adjustments I took Shaper down, but I struggle a little dmg wise.
Im trying new things now and I reach Single target 1M+/550k fully buffed/normal buffs per totem(1.3M actually swaping Skirmish with a good rare , no Shock ticked on PoB but 1 less totem). 46M life of Elder gone away in about 7 seconds.

Anyway, what I want to tell you is , at least on my setup (It might be different on this guide setup), there's no range at which Quill Rain is better than Chin-sol. If you know how to PoB, you can check by yourself , I've stopped at 100 points travel distance because even at less distance , totems dont aggro target enemies and you have recast anyway(Ballista got nice buffs but also got some nerfs compared to the good old RAT)

MAYBE if you dont take Point Blank , Quill rain is better but take on consideration swaping to Chin-sol if you are going to allocate Point Blank.

I've setup both Chin Sol and Point Blank after some poe building shenanigans - it's flat out better. Basically, we lose about 15-20% dps at the maximum range but we get 95% more up close.

Hi, your gear is really good! Here's what I will suggest for you


1. Corrupted Quill Rain with 18% Increased Critical Strike Implicit

This Increased Critical Chance is different from those we get from other sources like Passive Tree and Equipment Affix. It is applied to the base Crit of the Bow which in turn, is then multiplied with the Increased Critical Strike we get from other sources, which means, everyone's favourite Big DPS gains :)

*You might want to take note of "Point 3" below before rolling the sockets.


2. Awakened Elemental Damage With Attacks Support to replace your non-awaken version.


3. Awakened Curse on Hit(ACOH) Support to replace your non-awaken version. If you manage to get a level 5 ACOH which enables an additional Curse, you can check the Double Curse Gem setup under "04 Possible Gem Setup" in my writeup.


4. Switching the belt to a Stygian Vise will provide an Abyss Jewel slot.

Here's what we look for in Abyss Jewels

Others
Ideal Rare Abyss Jewel for our build

2 Prefix from below

- Adds (16–18) to (27–32) Fire Damage to Bow Attacks
- (Defensive option) +(101–180) to Evasion Rating
- (Defensive option) +(36–40) to maximum Life

2 Suffix from below

- +(9–12)% to Global Critical Strike Multiplier
- +(3–5)% increased Attack Speed
- +(121–240) to Accuracy Rating

Suffixes provide more compared to the Prefixes(Except Life) in Abyss Jewels base on the available options so focus on them more.


Below are Lower value upgrades, in terms of DPS gained over currency spent so don't prioritize them, get them only if you can't get other upgrades.


5. 21/23 Elemental hit. A bit of DPS increase, not as significant as jumping from level 20 to level 21.


6. Kaom's Heart with high %Increased Fire Damage plus high %Increased Damage corrupted implicit. This is a costly item for the DPS increase it provides. I would highly recommend getting +4 Frostferno before getting this due to it's price.

Hi, I actually had that jewel in mind to put in an FAQ section on what are the possible sources we can look for for piercing, but I guess I'll just highlight it in the Gear Changes section for now.

Didn't include it originally because the stat on the jewel wasn't too impressive to occupy a single jewel slot which we don't have a lot of, only 2 after after deducting off the 3 unique jewels we use.
