Five Weeks into 0.2.0, POE2 is Down 93.2% Players All Time & 83.9% from Patch Launch

I saw the same story in ''Battlefield 2042''. There was a lot of feedback for the game but they never fixed it. Years later it disappeared into history as a failed story.
Space Marine 2 didnt fail to amaze me so far. Got that game for free with my cpu, I bought to play poe2.
Thought of it as a amd showcase at first.
Turns out to be the game I had the most fun with after Elden Ring.
At this point I rather watch numbers than playing poe2. Kinda sorry. Weird thing. Promotion didnt really keep up with reality.

Tencent are the rmt gotcha gods of this generation. There is a reason many of the mechanics don't make sense, it's because they are no trying to achieve the thing that would logically make sense for them to do, if your view on what they are trying to achieve is correct.

Success doesn't have a specific outcome, it depends on what your trying to achieve in the first place.

Edit: look on these rmt sites. Mirrors are selling for close to 2k depending on the age of the season. And alot of people are buying them.




If their goal is to make the game an RMT MTX cash cow then they have to make the game free but basically unplayable without RMT. Think of clash of clans.

Now I dont know that this is the plan and I hope it isnt the plan. If it is then what was once a gaming company will be worth less than dog droppings in my eyes.

Again, comparing 1st day of the game with current day in terms of players is enough to not take into consideration your post, not because it may not contain something valuable in it, but because it starts with something totally wrong.

And here is where I disagree. POE1 leagues held very long and then surged back to full at the beginning of each league with the aggregate launch count rising over the years. It would take POE1 almost all of the league of three months to get down to such low percentage and then it would surge right back.

POE2 could have been the refined version of POE1 with a better story, cutscenes, innovative ideas and extensive marketing. Instead they chose to throw almost all of POE1 in the trash except some base mechanics. Such a shame.

Your problem here is that you want them to just make poe1 with better cutscenes and some new graphics. While what they are doing is making a new game, which involves testing new systems.
Still ok numbers for early access seasonal game, middle of half kind of almost season. By your logic, PoE 1 is a complete failure of a game and should be deleted asap, 10 years of content and 7k people - why aren't you playing it btw, graphic too old, or no sense to play it without a fresh gimmick?

A great undertaking, meaningful combat + h&s mob size + rpg depth. IF they succeed, it will be the ultimate arpg.

Rest of your points is just various ways of saying that you don't like how the sandbox aspect is cut. I'd prefer more freedom as well, but they go for more personality in the classes, as opposed to flying carpet boomzoom whatever vehicle.

Or crafting, deterministic crafting takes away from loot, just buy yourself an alchemist simulator to sit behind a bench all day, and then some juicy autobattler and you're good.

Nah, game design is not a democracy. I disagree with almost everything you say about the game, so which customer is right? Majority? Then go ask people which music genre to delete, and you will end with Bach deleted and Despacito still avilable. The idea that customer should decide game design is stupid, there is enough of dependency on customers in this supporter pack system, without your misguided ideas about the mythical, unifided "customer", who accidently always wants exactly what you do.

Btw I will gladly upgrade to Liberator or buy next 480 if the game stays close to vision, and will not if it goes your way. What now?

Btw 2 PoE 1 is still alive so far, and 2 is not even finished, so hard to judge the final amount of freedom, and then there are seasons to come. The idea that it's dead is just your hysteria, come back when the death is announced or there is no 3.26 in June.

No, it's better to have 2 games, I will play both, and don't need another PoE 1 with less content, which wasn't even meant to be that but is quickly adapted bc some guy demanded it. Again, come back when PoE 1 doesn't respond when you press play.

It's called poe2 so of course people want it to be poe.
Especially since it uses a lot of supporters money from previous years.
Don't call it poe2 otherwise. Make a new game with different name.

And poe1 is dead for 7 months, idk what you're talking about

No one would complain about poe2 being bad if poe1 had a league every 3 months
