Your problem here is that you want them to just make poe1 with better cutscenes and some new graphics. While what they are doing is making a new game, which involves testing new systems.

It's called poe2 so of course people want it to be poe.
Especially since it uses a lot of supporters money from previous years.
Don't call it poe2 otherwise. Make a new game with different name.

And how is it not Path of Exile? It has the same "core values", everything that made Path of Exile... Path of Exile is present in the 2nd game.
At the eve of the end

Ok but a games predecessor isnt typically an identical copy of the previous one.

Having the same name implies that its a similar game, typically in the same world with similar mechanics and playstyles.

If it was just gonna be an exact copy then there would be no point in making it.

They wanted to make a new game because they wanted to try new systems.
And its in early access so thats why their testing new atlas system, new crafting system, new combat mechanics, etc.

Some of these I fully expect they will go back on and copy from poe1 and some of them will probably when their fully developped be better then they ever were in poe1. But if you just stamp your feet and shout thats everything bad if its slightly different in poe1 then its not gonna lead anywhere.

A great undertaking, meaningful combaе

No one really wants "meaningful combat"

And poe1 is dead for 7 months, idk what you're talking about

No one would complain about poe2 being bad if poe1 had a league every 3 months

I want meaningful combat, your statement invalid in a second.

PoE1 dead, funny I just played it, good time for HC SSF ruthless since it's all quiet anyway.

I'm sorry you can't play without trade, or that you need some new gimmick in this infinite sandbox of freedom, one you all love so much that you demand a sequel to be a copy of it.

Funny btw how I seem to love 1 more in all its aspects than the PoE 2 bad PoE 1 king crowd.

Yes shame there is no leagues, doesn't mean game is dead, and I thought it's al about endless possibilities and superior gameplay? Idk
185M death man! this not fun game!

Again, comparing 1st day of the game with current day in terms of players is enough to not take into consideration your post, not because it may not contain something valuable in it, but because it starts with something totally wrong.

And here is where I disagree. POE1 leagues held very long and then surged back to full at the beginning of each league with the aggregate launch count rising over the years. It would take POE1 almost all of the league of three months to get down to such low percentage and then it would surge right back.

POE2 could have been the refined version of POE1 with a better story, cutscenes, innovative ideas and extensive marketing. Instead they chose to throw almost all of POE1 in the trash except some base mechanics. Such a shame.

New systems? They took almost all of the systems here from POE1 and the only thing truly new is the gem system which is a wreck.

A great undertaking, meaningful combat + h&s mob size + rpg depth. IF they succeed, it will be the ultimate arpg.

Rest of your points is just various ways of saying that you don't like how the sandbox aspect is cut. I'd prefer more freedom as well, but they go for more personality in the classes, as opposed to flying carpet boomzoom whatever vehicle.

Well you are in the 3% to 5% that like the game. That is not enough to support the product. So you wont have this game because it wont make any money unless they MTX pay to win the hell out of it.

They already have everyone's money?
Unlike PoE1 this wasn't free, relying solely on steady mtx/stash purchases.

Peak players is not a viable way to determine anything. Look at average players cause its the consistent players that will keep the lights on.

However, it doesn't really matter cause you are one of the 10 people on this forum that just spend all day bashing the game nonstop.

Copium. The numbers are a business disaster and GGG knows it.

As for me being one of 10 (dont know how you get that count but hey lets go with it) that is because the others have already said "heck with this" and left. I would love to see it succeed and that is the reason I am still here. I have devoted most of the last 10 years of my hours playing POE on my three accounts and I would love POE2 to be successful.
The lack of build diversity, and the amount of loot that (doesn't) drops for your current character, is mostly why I've given up on POE2.

On build diversity, this video made me open my eyes: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-R9clutdRVU&t=2360s

And the loot that drops for your currently played character was... just not enough to motivate me to continue playing.

I've since moved on to Last Epoch, a game that actually gives me loot for my current character, and can change your skills to how you want vs. what the devs want you to do.
