[Feedback] Giga-Nerf Energy Shield in Patch 0.4.0

With the changes in Patch 0.3.0, Evasion and Armour are in a pretty good spot as defensive mechanics, but Energy Shield continues to be an outlier, being vastly superior. For comparison, endgame Life builds have around 2-3K life whereas ES builds have around 10-15K ES. I urge GGG to NOT buff Evasion and Armour further as that would trivialize challenging content within the game.

Instead for Patch 0.4.0, GGG should Giga-Nerf ES with a three-pronged approach as follows:

* All Energy Shield modifiers on items reduced by 25%
* All Energy Shield nodes on passive tree reduced by 25%
* Increase default Recharge Time to 6 seconds (up from 4 seconds)





There in lies the problem tho.... GGG dosent know how to nerf without a sledgehammer...


GGG doesn't know what needs to be nerfed becouse probably doesn't play his own game. Few testers can't make the diference. It needs to party every day with people to realize the chaos in balance.
I played a minmaxed Armour Warbringer and a minmaxed Es Bloodmage.
Even with 14k ES i am clearly not as safe as my Warbringer with 3k Life but fully maxed Armour/Armour aplies to Eledmg.
Armour is so op Content is boring now, because nothing comes close to kill me.
Stay afk in the deadliest Puddles, laugh at the biggest Slams of any Mob and watch Tv °_°.
For this reason we need MUCH HARDER Endgame if Armour stays like it is now.

TbH i think Armour needs a Nerf, but not ES^^
phyisical damage reduction from armor ~ Armor/(Armor + Initial Hit Damage* 10). So if the hit is higher than the 10% of your total effective armor, damage reduction is still dogshit. Test some deli with nasty mods...Warrior needs hp for nasty maps.

ES players fear that next patch will destroy their builds as done to others in previous patches. The problem in balance is not ES.
The real issue lies in combination between ES and Class. Becouse if you have strong DPS and defence is strong enough to survive in 85%+, then the Char touches god mode or at least seems to other weaker classes that is not vulnerable.

GGG should make a deep search to find these builds and nerf them to the bone. For me Ritualist is one of them. It needs to be nerf becouse now it destroys completely the party game.

DK-i can do Deli 100+ with the Hardest Mods really not a Problem with 3k Hp at all. Ok perhaps i have to use a Life Flask from Time to Time. And i play 2-Hand so no Block chance at all. In my opinion the Combination o high Armour AND Armour aplies to ele is completely broken. No Death since 3 Levels (93) atm-and i can get even more Armour from Tree. I run the deadliest Map Mods and i want to die, but it 's impossible xD

It's not broken, it's fixed becouse we complained a lot about. AND you said the magic word 3k. What about Mercenary playing with 1,7k??? Also it mentioned that happens if MAX resistances apply but not all builds rely on full defences.

GGG should bring at last straight HP points to passive nodes to fix some classes.

Do you have any video or gameplay of this? 3k health even with giants blood is extremely low, and so is 14k es min/maxed....

so I am having my doubts on anything in your statements but would love to be proven wrong.

I want to see a armour 3k life build play a 100 deli with no shield

This has to be a joke. Good one.
Maybe they could keep ES values the same but make it so resists do not apply to it.
