As I see it. After some POB tests and patch note rereads.Necro is STILL a busted T1 leaguestarter. I will, no doubt play it again. The nerfs by GGG can be somehow avoided by changing some ascendancies and going PURE zombies+Auras. We won´t be as tanky and deal less dps but ,really, not a big deal to me.

Strength stacking has only been hammered a little by Shapers nerf but Geofrei went unnoticed. A combination of many Efficient Trainings+ Geofrei+Brawns and CI with GhostReaver makes the NERF to Mistress of Sacrifice not such a big deal.

Yes.

I can still hit over 2million DPS per zombie running 8 auras.

After reading what brunowa wrote I think CI is still in a very strong place, especially if you go for dual +2 minion wands. And in terms of the baron it's still BIS for me. The leech is great with ghost reaver.

Need to properly theory craft at a PC but a 2700 strength build loses 4 zombies from strength and 1 from the gem. But equipping double wands mitigates that loss a bit.

One thing to also note is how easy will it be to stack huge strength? Aiming for 2500 for 5 zombies is OK and you will still get a chunk of ES. In 3.9 you needed to spec basically the whole tree to achieve 2700 but if new items such as split personality let you stack it easier then you will have a lot of spare points compared to the old tree. That means you can take more ES nodes to mitigate the loss from shapers touch and some dps wheels for the loss of zombies.

As I said before the CI version doesn't rely on spirit offering at all so that's all good there. Didn't rely on feeding frenzy either so that change makes no difference.

Overall I don't see much lost at a first glance. Maybe even stronger depending on new items and passive nodes. But also at the end of day we had 15m AFK shaper dps along with 18k+ ES and insane regen. So even if we lose 5m dps and 4k ES it's still op as fuck.

That being said, I feel kinda bad for the poor bois because at a base level with starter gear it will feel noticeably worse. For the rich Bois I don't think it will feel much different even with lower theoretical numbers

When do you think we may have a theory crafted tree/gear? I am not very good at that sort of thing and really want to play summoner this league as my last build was one of the best things i've ever played. Also any advice on leveling?
Is it possible to stand on the portal in blighted maps without feeding frenzy? Seems unlikely.
Swap in FF when you do blights? Not optimal but would get the job done.

That's a great statement and particularly resonates with me personally. I'm not a top tier player and never will be. I plod along and play the game, but the whole speed meta just grates for me.

To my mind this is the biggest issue with PoE. The min/max gurus who play the speed game can accrue great amounts of currency and invest massively into a build to make it near god tier. This is only a relatively small group of players though.

This build was one of the best I've ever played because it was robust, customisable, and didn't required 40 Ex of gear just to function. But because it can be pushed to ridiculous levels GGG nerfed it to the point I just can't bring myself to try and push through the problems. I never even broke 1500 strength last league and didn't have amazing gear (sure, good, but not amazing). It was an enjoyable place to be but it wasn't in a place where I was immortal or deleting bosses instantly. I actually felt powerful for a change.

I am just weary of GGG's dysfunctional game design, one shot mechanics, poor balance and inane levels of busywork disguised as progress. I wish all you passionate Necros well in the new league but I won't be joining you this time around. I'm off to find a game that is enjoyable and rewarding, not one that feels like I'm smacking myself in the face with a wooden board that has a nail through it.

The two-handed weapon versions now grant 85 to 94% increased damage dealt by your minions (from 105 to 110%). You can use a Divine Orb on existing weapons if you're sick of how strong your minion build is.


These got hit too, so I'm not sure if they'll even be as strong as 130% or fortify, will have to run numbers.
