After just one week poe2 has more players on steam then LE does

The people who can see through the bad and appreciate the good are still playing. Some streamers are also coming back.

As long as they continue to treat it like EA with these constant patches it will be in a good place soon enough. And they don't slow gameplay down any further and force block and parry and other lame mechanics.

LE has lost 50% of its playerbase in one week - that’s not good and also a testament to what happens when you make a game with not enough friction. Also, something’s up with LE’s steamchart. It’s got an anamoly in there that’s making me feel like all these numbers we look at (not just LE but all games) are potentially altered or bot influenced.

Exactly. It's like shrouds statements about the new Marathon game compared to Escape from tarkov. Marathon is attempting to remove all the friction from the game in order to make the game more accessible to newer players.

However it's the friction that actually keeps people playing for months or years on end. If you remove all the friction from a game people will come in beat all content in the game in a week and move on. There is nothing there to keep players engaged if they try and remove all the friction from the game

Those drops are just servers shutting down for maintenance lol, same dips happen in PoE when servers have to restart for patches
No it doesnt. lol.
GGG - Why you no?
OP, I always enjoy your threads. You consistently begin with an implausible hypothesis, incorporate alarming terminology to exaggerate potential issues, and preemptively dismiss anyone who might disagree with you.

You fabricate hypothetical counterarguments solely to invalidate them with questionable reasoning. When someone actually challenges your points, you promptly accuse them of name-calling, apparently oblivious to the irony.

I find myself fascinated by individuals like you who seem to require two opposing sides—one to devotedly support and another to vehemently oppose. I have yet to see a single post from you containing constructive feedback FOR PoE2. Instead, you create grandstanding threads about imaginary adversaries in what appears to be an eternal struggle against those who supposedly threaten everything you value (i.e., PoE2).

How do you maintain this perspective? Do you wake up thinking, 'Those LE players will surely attack my beloved PoE2 today! I must create a thread about them blackmailing GGG and warn all righteous PoE2 players. It's my responsibility to save PoE2! Without my intervention, innocent gamers might be tempted by another game!'?

I have to commend you though. You are patient enough to actually wait for the volatile player numbers to be exactly like you need them to be to make those outrageous claims to begin with.

Does not change the fact that this is a complete mess. At this rate, you will keep the same number of POE 1 players, but they will be split between 1 and 2...

I think it's a massive opportunity lost. The way they are just making players wait for fixes that must happen to keep newer players will destroy any chance they had of keeping new players active.

The more this goes on, the more I feel like they don't want new players.

I have been watching loot drop and get eliminated as I kill very hard bosses. Leveling up and staying viable on non-meta builds is a nightmare. Then you die and see that you have to do 2 more maps to make up for that one death. Chaos damage is overdone, I'm maxed and it still rapes me,. Building this character to just make progress has been a slog and not fun.

it's no wonder the streamers have given up. As much as I like the game, I force myself to play enough to get a bit farther along, right until I get so frustrated at the poor design that I log out.

Games were way better when I was a kid. Let's take fallout 1 for example. When you first begin the game you are told where to go. However when you get to the vault there's just a hole in the ground with no way to get down. So the only tip the game gave you is a dead end.

Now when you travel to the vault the game told you to go. A random town will pop up. If you happen to explore the town before you go to the marker the game gave you you will be given a quest. The quest has nothing to do with the vault you were originally given.

However, if you search a bookcase in one of the random houses you will find rope. And if you are clever enough you can take that rope to the vault and go down the hole and find an overpowered weapon. When you get the rope a quest marker doesn't pop up and say hey you should take this rope to the vault you were told to go to to explore it further. You have to figure this out yourself. This is 10/10 game design. The game doesn't hand hold you, the game doesn't have yellow paint plastered everywhere telling you where to go. You have to use your own intelligence and intellect to figure this out yourself. God fallout 1 was such a good game.

Now when poe2 first came out I saw glimpses of how games were back in the day. You have to figure things out for yourself, you are not guaranteed your 4th ascendancy. But no we can't have games like fallout 1 anymore because modern day gamers cannot handle it.

Modern day gamers are entitled. They want everything handed to them without any effort on their part. They want to follow a guide in order to get the rewards. They want broken builds so they don't have to learn boss mechanics. When something kills them they want the devs to remove this from the game.

I blame the people calling for a LE or D4 clone for never having new games be good anymore. Even though there are 100s of games that are like LE or D4. They refuse to let me have a new game that doesn't hold your hand. The forums are flooded with people who have been filtered demanding the game be changed to poe 1.5. I blame these people for the failure of modern day games.
do we really need another half baked david verses goilith thread.

omg guys a small indie kickstarter arpg is 10k players below us

we win lol.

meanwhile the 4 of you left high five and continue your march to disprove why there is so many people upset about this game.

its just not true bros, this game is the bestest.

Thank you for that, it’s exactly how I feel, and I’m sure it’s the same for many passionate and constructive players.

the difference is you could beat fallout 2 in less than 3 hours.

this game expects you to grind for 300.

thats not entitlement thats respecting your own time.

im old too you seem to forget that is was a select few games that did this in a sea of trash. you need to clean your rose colored glasses. games were not better back in the day. it was the same crap just not as pretty looking.
