More Secret Treasure Rooms in Campaign Dungeons - Incentive Exploration
Yeah maybe they just got high on their own ideas.
Its possible. Anyhow, Im just hoping they land a homerun in a few weeks, make up their minds about what this is supposed to be and then stick it out. Obviously folks have different opinions on the ideal direction, thats always going to be the case but its also irrelevant as far as Im concerned. Just having a clear direction would be better than whats going on right now and therefore finding that direction should be the focus - not suggesting a million features and getting lost in the weeds. |

" Agreed, but would argue every solid ARPG game has some RPG elements, otherwise it should just be an action game. |

You can add that ofc.
Core gameplay loop tho is kill shit, grab loot, get stronger, kill stronger monsters. Thats it. If you mess with that, you dont have an ARPG anymore and that core loop is purely action. Nothing else. Gotta be careful to not alienate the core audience and that wont be players enjoying clicking multiple choice dialogues or anything like that. Its simply not part of the core experience. So if you add it, its either pointless fluff or its gonna piss off the core audience, if its mandatory. Which begs the question: Why even bother? แก้ไขล่าสุดโดย Orbaal#0435 เมื่อ 10 ส.ค. 2025 10:05:11

Not dialogue needed, only a noticeable spot in rocks and booooommmm! Just like Zelda game. Firing with weapon should be enough to break hidden door. No need of dynamite.

" I would argue mostly players would love to find hidden secret rooms inside dungeons, with mounds of gold and chests. Who doesn't want that? It's not pointless fluff, but part of the core experience as well. |

" The fact that most players skip optional quests entirely, regardless of the rewards unless its a skillbook, would indicate otherwise. Also players do filter out 99% of the loot anyways after the campaign for a good reason. So no, I dont think you are right. There will be a subset of players appreciating it for sure, no doubt about that. I highly highly doubt its the core audience tho. แก้ไขล่าสุดโดย Orbaal#0435 เมื่อ 10 ส.ค. 2025 10:19:01

" Becouse these players don't have life and playing only for reaching level 100 or finding items and selling them for real money. But i will tell you from those 99% that others filter out, i have found items that was sometimes better than from 1% expected. |

" No bro. Dynamite is the whole fun part. No Martini... No party! |

" Exactly, stuff that this adds discovery and mystery to an ARPG. Young gamers these days simply want to level up, I want to go on an adventure. แก้ไขล่าสุดโดย CharlesJT#7681 เมื่อ 10 ส.ค. 2025 11:29:57
