Your game still has A LOT to learn from Diablo games

Posting for the first time on the forums because of this one and I have come just to say that OP is mostly correct.

Ive played all four diablo's with a thousand plus hours in each minus D4 (2 and 3 got well into 5k) and right now the pitch of POE2 has not lived up to the promise and unless serious steering is made at the top this game will ultimately go the way of D3 specifically.

It's simple business and if you have a passive tree for example as large and complex as POE does, the selling point is "You can make any crazy build you want and can become a badass" but right now that is simply not the case.

Every class now has TOPS 2 classes that will clear the endgame content and every single one has some form of a broken mechanic that is simply more an unintended exploit discovered by autists and content creators than anything the devs actually intended.

if that does not change, it will become D3 not D2, where the drop rates are insanely good and it will take a single weekend to get a character for a season to get to the clearing most of the endgame of content because player retention for a Free to Play game such as this one intends to be WILL be the business model.
D4 is at best a mid arcade game. Your post is satire levels of stupid.

I get what you're saying, but to me that's on players as well. Players don't WANT to experiment and iterate. They view it as a waste of time. They want to go online, watch a video on the absolute most totally 'cracked' OP build and copy it verbatim, then they complain when content is trivialized and it doesn't feel as fun as they thought.

Then, when GGG does make adjustments to out of band outliers quickly folks lose their gourde so GGG backs off and says "Ok, we won't nerf anything until in-between leagues".

I don't use build guides nor meta builds yet I've been having an absolute blast despite the myriad of problems. (Font of Blood fix, when???)

Every class has many builds that will clear endgame content, just doesn't trivialize it the way those OP builds do. But what's the ask? That all builds trivialize content? I don't want the game to go in that direction.

If you get one-shot by a white mob you're either running a hilariously undergeared character or you're in an area that's far above your character's current level.

You can get yourself killed by white mobs, certainly, but not one-shot and unless it's because of lag, all those deaths are entirely your own fault.

Yea but they can learn some things from D2, Dungeon Siege 2, Sacred, Neverwinter Nights 2 and all the perfect games played 2 decades back...

Dungeon Siege 2 was by far the best off all RPG games. Maybe some day Devs take good examples and bring fighting pet skills in classes. We had enough of all those annoying Companions.
I mean xp loss is fine and there should be a penalty for dying. White mods can't one shot you with full defense. If they are doing that to you it means your build is bad. I can afk in t16 Abyss without issue, so an adjusted to your build is probably the best solution. "Nerfed" is only used by people when it impacts their build, rather than stating it's actually balance adjustments, which is objectively what it is.

Overall I just couldn't disagree more. No one wants the game to be a mindless loot fest. There needs to be some struggle involved, otherwise the payoff doesn't matter. Good luck in the new league though.

I know practicing helped me get better at the game and I'm sure if you put time in you can get better and not worry about what you wrote so much. Good luck!
