You can still learn from Diablo games, like Diablo 4.


I stoped to read here.

Diablo 4 is by far the worst ARPG ever created and pure crap....I tried Season 10 for 3 days but the game is still boring and soulles like the 9 seasons before, I instantly came back to POE2.

And I say this as a Diablo Fanboy since hour 1 in Diablo 1 back in the days and with surely more than 10k hours in all 4 games (Mostly D2).

Ofc has POE2 it's flaws but it's still in Beta (Half of the things are not even in the game yet if you didn't realize so far....just open the skill book and look the empty pages).

Guess it's your first time in a BEta/EA game, things change in Beta and will be balanced constantly...that's how it works.

Let me guess....Your definition of "fun" is to have a character that can 1-tap 100% of the content after 1-2 days into a new league with less than 10 Divines investment and all that with just 1 button.

Only to complain in the forums after 1 week that "theres nothing to do in the game".

You can have all that in Diablo 4 and many other ARPGs on the market, we POE2 fans don't want that....I hope that the whole endgame will become at least 10 times hared with 1.0 becasue atm it's way to trivial (Stick to your vision Jonathan, we want challanging and meaningful fights in POE2....not a boring 1-tap fiesta like in Diablo 4). ;)

I upvote every single word.

Honestly i didn't even tried D4, just seen few streams and heard "feedback". I lost my trust in blizzard long ago, when they made Diablo 3 "as people want".
Literally changes like:
No exp loss on death
Revive in place with no consequences
OP legendaries compares to rares which drops from each mob
Campaign skip
Difficulties skip
No towers, no atlas, no "chore" - just oneclicking through portals for some rng all day.
Free respec in any place.
Billions of DAMAGE! Numbers are so funny in this game...
Loot goblins with lootsplosions.
Many more things "for fun".

And look how the game feels now. And it was promising game on release and even hard and challenging back in 2012.

And if GGG should learn something from this is literally only how NOT to do games.

PS. Big D2 and D2R fan here. Tough this game is long forgotten and abandoned, but i still think that D2 has great mob/combat design and overall game pace (if not count enigma and broken builds like mosaic)

D4 introduced one new character in 2 years and charged full price for it. The whole expansion area was the same size as one zone of the campaign in POE2. No one needs to be taking any pointers from Blizzard at this stage in history
Wet dreams =) We should also add the crucible from Grim Dawn as an alternative to the acts and we'll live.
Neverwinter Nights 2 can still beat any RPG game of all times. It's the best RPG that binds perfectly Story and combat elements, something that never have seen in earlier or after games. GGG should get from these games some examples of how to make people not be bored easily...

Overall I just couldn't disagree more. No one wants the game to be a mindless loot fest. There needs to be some struggle involved, otherwise the payoff doesn't matter. Good luck in the new league though.

I know practicing helped me get better at the game and I'm sure if you put time in you can get better and not worry about what you wrote so much. Good luck!

Struggle in a video game cannot be compared to real life struggles. If you are struggling in a video game this leads to annoyance and boredom. Basically, what PoE 2 campaign is. The giant tunnel-like maps do not lead to a pleasant experience. And all the "difficulty" can be bypassed on subsequent playthroughs by simply having better gear. As is intended because fuck the campaign, it is too long

The major problem with GGG team is that brought a fantastic game with 99% copying elements from Poe1. A little juicy fantasy needs and ton of new ideas can modify XP loss problem to become more accepted by people.

Even now we know 99% next content update becouse we expecting a copy paste soon.

I found one-button builds in casino-like endgame for div/hour grind much more "second job" than interesting challenging fights with strong mobs and bosses.
